Free Music Notes for Almost FamousFree Music Review: Great not-so-famous songs from great '70s bands!! Hit: 5 Stars
This cd I was reluctant to buy because I had not heard of practically any of the songs on it. I have heard of nearly all of the bands on the cd, but not the songs. I think that since the movie is titled "Almost Famous", they used songs from bands that weren't hits like their other songs, but were in themselves "Almost Famous". It is a great cd to listen to while working or relaxing. I love "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John, and I heard that there is a great scene envolving "Tiny Dancer" in the film. Can't wait to see the movie if it is nearly as good as this cd.
Free Music Review: yes, yes, yes Hit: 5 Stars
What can I say...it was a great movie...and an even better soundtrack. This would have to be the best soundtrack I have ever heard. Normally, there will be at least a few songs on most soundtracks that you could do without. This one have 17 complete gems. I have recently gotten into the 70's era music, and like another reviewer said, I wish I was older back then. Wish I would have been around in the time of The Who, Led Zeppelin, Simon & Garfunkel...If you like the artists listed on this CD, BUY IT! It will make you smile and forget all the troubles of the world.
Free Music Review: AWESOME Hit: 5 Stars
I generally like soundtracks from movies but this one has got to be one of the best that I have ever bought. To have one soundtrack that has The Who, Led Zeppelin, and Elton John on one is amazing. Since I have bought this cd I have probably listened to it a hundred times. Out of the soundtracks that have been released this year this one is at the top of my top 10. The only thing that this cd needed was to have all the songs that were in the movie on it and to have "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John with the cast singing it.
Free Music Review: Great Movie - Even Better Soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
Great movie, even better soundtrack. The movie deals with writer-director Cameron Crowe's trails and tribulations as a Rolling Stone magazine journalist. Great movie but the music in the movie totally makes the movie. After just the first listen, you will fall in love with this great collection of songs. From Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cat Stevens and many more great artists, this collection of songs are just incredible and a perfect complement to the movie. Buy the movie and then buy this soundtrack :)
Free Music Review: EXCELLENT COMPILATION Hit: 5 Stars
This CD is great. It brings together amazing songs by Simon and Garfunkel, The Who, Lynard Skynard, Led Zeppelin, and much more. I hope they make a second volume, too, because that would be the perfect complement. The movie is also very good, if you were wondering. And, if you like the "Almost Famous" soundtrack, check out the soundtrack to the 1993 movie, "Dazed & Confused." It has other good 70's music on it, too, and there's a follow-up volume, "Even More Dazed & Confused."
