Free Music Notes for Almost Famous

Free Music Review: yeah
Hit: 5 Stars

When I first saw Almost Famous (the movie) I was blown away. I have not seen a better movie since. Before I saw the movie I had this image of the 70's of people wearing those really tall shoes and tight shiney outfits and dancing to disco music so when I saw the movie I fell in love with the era. The soundtrack fits the movie perfectly and there is nothing bad about it. You should also buy the almost famous book... it's really good. No other movie is better. Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" is wonderful.

Free Music Review: Excellent
Hit: 5 Stars

Saw the premiere of the film this week and the it lives up to the great soundtrack. Even though it should have been a 2 or 3 disc set, with Zeppelin, Elton and The Who how can you go wrong? The only drawback that faces this disc is that most of the fans of this film will have surely have these tracks on disc already. Do yourself a favor, go see this movie!

I also forget the name of the band and the song that is on the commercial, so please email me this info at scarrotts@telus.net. Thank-you.

Free Music Review: Absolutely fabulous music
Hit: 5 Stars

I purchase soundtracks to capture the mood of a time, and this is one that absolutely embraces what it was like to be a teenager during the 1970s -- I was one myself. With the exception of a couple of songs I could do without (Todd Rundgrens' It Wouldn't Have Made A Difference and perhaps the Beach Boys' Feel Flows, which feels more like late '60s than '70s), I wouldn't have changed a thing. All the songs are timeless. I had forgotten how moved I was hearing Cat Stevens' The Wind for the first time.

Free Music Review: Been there, done that, bought the tee shirt!
Hit: 5 Stars

I happened upon the movie on cable and was impressed with how accurate it was to the time and culture. But what caught me was the music! How can you go wrong with the likes of Simon & Garfunkel, The Who, Todd Rundgren, Yes, Rod Stewart, The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Cat Stevens to mention a few. This soundtrack produced by Danny Bramson and Cameron Crowe really captures this moment in time and brings back a flood of memories. I don't think anyone who lived this would be disappointed.

Free Music Review: Perfect music for a perfect movie
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm a huge classic rock fan, so this soundtrack is definately a winner. The Allman Brothers just happen to be one of my favorite bands, and when I heard "One Way Out" play in the movie, I instantly knew that I had to have this cd. Some other great bands are on here too, such as Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. If you are a die hard fan for classic rock, buy this cd. If you saw the movie, and loved it, you'll love the cd as well. One of the best soundtracks I have so far!
