When I saw the movie "Easy Rider" in the late sixties, I was totally blown away. The ending was so shocking to me that I walked out of the theatre in a daze. I bought the video and recently watched it again for the umpteenth time wondering where I could find the soundtrack after so many years. I stopped wondering when I found it on Amazon.com. The music is just as good today as it was then. If you want to take yourself and your memories down "Sixties Lane" buy this CD. Before this soundtrack came out in 1969 this type of album was made for the film songs.
With Easy Rider the film was made and music added and what a great result!
Born To Be Wild, The Weight, Wasn't Born To Follow, If Six Was Nine, Kyrie Eleison/Mardi Gras (When The Saints), It's Alright Ma (I/m Only Bleeding) and finally Ballard Of Easy Rider.
All the above are fantastic tracks, maybe the most evocative of the film is Wasn't Born To Follow.
It's a must have !

This is a fine album of classic rock music. I like to take the CD camping for my own fireside pleasure (recalling that awesome Jack Nicholson mental image moment), and to irritate the old curmudgeons on the adjoining campsites. The best thing about the cuts on this one is that they practically cover a history of 60s rock sounds. You'll be much pleased with this purchase if you're really into the classic rock music experience. It's a true and accurate reflection of the era.Free Music Review: Summer of '69 Revisited

I was listening to my EASY RIDER album a few days ago, with all the crackles and scratches,when it dawned on me that perhaps AMAZON.COM might have it available on cd. I checked and , sure enough, they did. This is a premium soundtrack frome the hippie era. Its got Hendrix, Steppenwolf, and my favorite Byrd, Roger McGuinn. This is definitely a must for any collection of the psychedelic music days. Long live Captain America!
