Free Music Notes for Easy Rider: Music From The Soundtrack (1969 Film)

Free Music Review: still easy
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought this album because it contains "The Pusher" by Steppenwolf, which was featured in the film "Tropic Thunder". But, hearing the album again, it seemed like a time capsule for that period and sort of made me want to see the movie again, although it is now a bit dated. Thankfully, the music is timeless. I bought the single CD version as I already have many of the cuts on the double CD.

Free Music Review: chopper rock
Hit: 5 Stars

This landmark album launched the whole Harley Davidson biker movement. It features great tracks from most of the heavyweights of the day. It introduced America to the "chopper" motorcycle which was almost unknown outside of the west coast and the whole nomadic motorcycle outlaw culture that went with it. My favorite is "kyrie Elison" by the Electric Prunes but every song is memorable.

Free Music Review: Easy Rider CD Review
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD was exactly what my boyfriend was looking for there was only one song on the CD that wasn't the original recording on the movie. Other than the one song we were both pleased to see how wonderfully it was digitally remastered. Not all music redone is this clear without some type of noise in the background. It was very clean and clear.

Free Music Review: And I wasn't even born yet--
Hit: 5 Stars

Easy Rider is a great movie, and the soundtrack is also excellent, particularly with Smith's version of the Band's "The Weight." I was born about ten years after the decade ended, so I don't have any particular memories attached to this soundtrack, but it's really good. I highly recommend it.

Free Music Review: I have the LP of this great soundtrack
Hit: 5 Stars

....but from what I gather, the CD is the same (but without the added pops and hisses I've added over the years). The purpose of this review however is to add my vote for Smith's version of The Weight as being not onlt the greatest song on this soundtrack, but also the best version of this song
