Free Music Notes for Groove (2000 Film)

Free Music Review: Get your "Groove" on.
Hit: 4 Stars

I thought the movie was actually pretty acurate, and this soundtrack does a good job too. It may be missing a few songs, but what's here is all worthy, and the continuous mix is a big plus. "Girls Like Us" is a catchy start, and I really like how "Halycon + On + On", "Anomaly (calling your name)", and "Heaven Scent" flow into each other, and the disc ends nicely as well. Overall this may not be the perfect selection, but if raves and trance/dance are your thing, then this should get you in the "Groove".

Free Music Review: Great film, great soundtrack
Hit: 4 Stars

The film was great if you havn't seen it rent it now. The soundtrack was was also great. The orbital track is a bit out of place on this album though. I have always been a fan of the song but it doesn't meld with the rest of the music quite right. I don't even remember it in the film. Word is there will be subsequent soundtrack releases for this film. Lets hope so, the music in this film really helped set the tone. Rarely do I rate anything 5 stars and in this case I give the album a solid 4.

Free Music Review: Groovin' at the Movies
Hit: 4 Stars

Groove the Soundtrack is an excellent mix of music from the rave scene, and a wonderful reminder of the movie. On it's own, it stands out as an excellent compilation of dance tunes. I really enjoyed "HeavenScent" and "Halcyon", and having seen the movie a couple of times now, it was fun thinking about how seamlessly these songs were woven into the storyline. I'm not a big house fan, but I really enjoyed both the movie and this album.

Free Music Review: Rave flow
Hit: 4 Stars

This eclectic selection of electronic based "spinning" music touches the pulse of the rave culture of San Francisco. From DJ Polywog to John Digweed, the music picks you up and carries you through the rhythmic decadence of modern youth, and you may find yourself smiling with the lights out. Great album.

Free Music Review: Good mixes...
Hit: 4 Stars

Judging from the little samples I've heard so far, the soundtrack is well put-together. The CD compilers picked some great tracks for the soundtrack!! Can't wait to see the movie! (if it should ever come near Alabama!)
