Free Music Notes for Hope Floats: Music From The Motion PictureFree Music Review: Great, Great, Great Hit: 4 StarsFirst let me say this, if you have not heard "Paper Wings" by Gillian Welch, you are truly missing out. This is one of those rare cases, where I enjoy the filler songs more than the ones that hit the radio (with the exception of "To Make You Feel My Love"). Lyle Lovett's "Smile" is thoughtful and sweet. Deana Carter's "What Makes You Stay" is touchingly sad. If they had removed "In Need" by Sheryl Crow, and "Chances Are" by Bob Seger and Martina McBride, I would have given this soundtrack 5 stars, but those two songs seem to detract from the feeling that all of the others create.
Free Music Review: A rare treat - a really good soundtrack! Hit: 4 StarsIf you enjoyed the movie, you'll like the soundtrack. I liked Sheryl Crow's song "In Need" the best. It rocks a little, the lyrics and her performance of them are GREAT. Maybe Sheryls' best song (tough to choose between it and "my favorite mistake" from the globe sessions). "To make you feel my love" is a really nice ballad by Garth Brooks (written originally by Bob Dylan). It might even make you think country music might be OK (I do). I had a tough time listening to the stones song, but it grew on me after a while. Bob Seger and Martina Mcbride sing a nice duet that you'll like if you like Seger's ballads. Trisha Yearwoods version of "to make you feel my love" should have been left off the soundtrack. I love Trisha, and the minimalist treatment of the song may have been needed for the movie, but it pales SO badly to Garth's version. If you are into "today's country", this is a must have. If you are a Sheryl Crow fan, you need it for her song alone.
Free Music Review: This is the best soundtrack I have ever heard! Hit: 5 StarsThere are not enough good words in this world to be able to thoroughly express the greatness of this CD. All of the songs are great, which is a hard thing to say about most albums these days. The best part of this CD is the song "Chances Are," by Martina McBride and Bob Seger. IT is so full of emotion and love! Please, if you even think you might like it, BUY it, because you will!

Free Music Review: Hope really does Float with this CD Hit: 5 StarsI have to say this is one of the best sound tracks I have heard in a long time. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the emotions while listening to the music. Lila McCann did such a great job with the song To Get Me To You, and Garth Brooks ,while he never has been one of my favorites, I feel his song on this cd,To Make you feel my Love, was great. Chances Are, and Smile, are new found favorites of mine. Rarely there comes along a cd that will really move you but this one definitely does. I love this cd and I highly recommend it.
