This is the CD I was waiting for, Almodovar is my favourite director and I've seen all his movies, the songs, those wonderful sons play a very important part in his stories. I don't understand how the previous review was so unfair, perhaps that person don't know anything about Almodovar's work. Hey pal, if you don't like the CD you can very well give it to me. I know a lot of people that will love having it in their collection.Este es el CD que estaba esperando, Almodovar es mi director favorito, yo he visto todas sus peliculas y las canciones, esas maravillosas canciones, juegan un papel muy importante en esas historias. No comprendo el comentario anterior, creo que fue muy injusto, quizas esa persona no sabe nada del trabajo de Almodovar. Oye, compadre, si no te gusta el CD puedes enviarmelo, yo se de muchisima gente a la que le encantaria tenerlo en su coleccion.

I'm chinese. I don't even speak Spanish. But I have been driven by the beautiful music here to learn the language. The pain, joy, human experience conveyed in the music make me wanna sing, cry, vamp...life in its multitude of histrionics is beautiful! Songs no. 1 and 2 are my favorite songs! Song no. 15 is way more hopelessly depressing than Jacques Brel's versions-I love it! The coarse voices, Spanish guitar, images of Almodovar's stories...As an Almodovar fan I have been searching for this CD- a compilation of the music in his films in stores but to no avail..when I saw it on line. I bought it immediately. I am happy with this purchase. I am in happy melancholia over these songs.Free Music Review: A Must for soundtrack collectors

A necessary album, specially if you consider that some of the movies included here did not enjoy an exclusive soundtrack. The only problem with this kind of album is that it soon becomes incomplete, specially in the case of Almodovar who has delivered several other pieces after the ones here in this record. Nevertheless, it must be admitted that it fills up a great gap and helps collectors to obtain good recordings of soundtracks impossible to get from any other source. I have been watching Mr Almodovar's films for many years, and the music in them played by itself still holds so many images in my head when I play the CD, ESPECIALLY the music from LAW OF DESIRE, from the 1980's with a YOUNG and SEXY Antonio Banderas playing a Bi-Sexual male who's obsessed with a Gay director and will do ANYTHING to be a part of his life.
The music from that film is such an important part of that film, but it is also so cool to listen to while cruising the street on a long drive home! I HIGHLY reccommend it!

This is a great CD with many songs. Some are old and remind me my youth back in the old country. I particularly liked song 19: "La bien pagá":
