Free Music Notes for Across The Universe [Deluxe Edition]

Free Music Review: Concise and nearly complete
Hit: 5 Stars

Despite the constant banter and bickering about the Motion Picture versions destroying the originals, these hold to their own soul, texture, and style. Jim Sturgess delivers smooth vocals that is fairly comparable to Paul McCartney but makes it his own. Evan Rachel Wood's haunting vocals breathe new life into songs like "Blackbird" and "If fell." Joe Anderson redefines such classics like "I Want You" and "Hey, Jude." With Dana Fuchs and Martin Luther's powerful vocals reigniting "Oh! Darlin" and "Helter Skelter" this album is a must for anyone who thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and for any Beatles fan willing to give it a chance. Taking it from a Beatles fan, you shouldn't be disappointed.

Free Music Review: Makes me happy...
Hit: 5 Stars

As someone who grew up in the 60s listening to Beatle music everyday, I can tell you this CD and the movie it came from, truly capture the essence of that amazing time in history. Every song on this CD is extraordinarily well done and true to the original intent of the song. It's like having the Beatles walk back into your life in a refreshing way that grabs you and your teen age children's hearts. The wonderful thing is that my two teen-aged kids are now huge Beatles fans because of this CD and we all listen to this music together. What a gift this CD and movie are to the world. Makes me enormously grateful and happy every time I listen to it. Blessings, Sue Frederick

Free Music Review: The Beatles are for all generations
Hit: 5 Stars

I was very excited when this movie came out as I grew up during the sixties. I was worried about the new interpretations of the Beatles songs but what a surprise! Not only was the movie great but I loved all the songs. My 19 yr old daughter & I watched the movie together the first time & I was able to give her a lot of the background & references that she wouldn't have picked up on otherwise. Bono channeling Ken Kesey with the Merry Pranksters meeting Timothy Leary was great! Joe Cocker was amazing as always. All the young talent brought a fresh sound too old favorites. The great response to the movie & soundtrack proves that the Beatles are truly for all generations.

Free Music Review: You either love it or you hate it
Hit: 5 Stars

This version of the soundtrack seemed to be the best bargain for me. I didn't need all the extra stuff that came with some of the special editions and I didn't feel that the two missing tracks were that essential, especially since you can buy them separately on iTunes or even Amazon. I thought the music for the movie was great and I see it as a tribute to how influential and prolific the Beatles were. And I don't think that Paul McCartney gets enough credit. If you see this album and movie as blasphemy to the memory of this great band, don't buy them. Simple as that. If you're a real fan and enjoy the Beatles' music in any form, you'll like the soundtrack.

Free Music Review: Great Musical Soundtrack
Hit: 5 Stars

Sometimes you may find yourself looking for versions of old songs with some type of renewed style but you will find regular voices with just modern arrangements and a few new instruments. But, this is a great-outstanding soundtrack not only due to the original compositions (from The Beatles) but to the excellent voices and the transparency of them with no many additives beyond the passion in the performance. The version of "I want to hold your hand" is so full of feelings as well as the gospell style of "Let it be". If you really want to hear fresh voices, fresh versions, old songs in an, someway, alternative style... you will enjoy this double CD.
