I purchased this item after seeing the movie, "Across the Universe", which I loved. To be honest, I never paid much attention to Beatles songs until I heard this soundtrack and fell in love with them. The way these talented artists perform each song is unique and thoroughly enjoyable. I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys Beatles music and enjoys discovering new talent. The artists have beautiful voices and truly make this a "must have" addition to any music collection.

Free Music Review: what "Hair" coulda, woulda, shoulda been ... stunning Hit: 5 Stars
From a guy who was there, this is truly as close to "being there" as I have ever seen. I was in college from 1962 thru 1972 with time off for the army in the late sixties. I was no fan of the "bubblegum" Beatles and never liked "I want to hold your hand" until this movie. The psychedelic and hippie scenes were excellent, especially the New York penthouse party and "For the benefit of Mr. Kite." This movie works on all levels. My teenagers loved it too.
Free Music Review: Marvelous Music! Hit: 5 Stars
What a wonderful film! But, to the soundtrack: The 31 Beatles songs on the Best Buy version of the soundtrack are heartfelt and nicely sung. But what particularly impresses me are the instrumental backings provided by the musicians (courtesy T-Bone Burnett?) --- not radical re-workings, but subtle and luminous, nonetheless. They will make you marvel anew at the undimmed brilliance of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
Free Music Review: It works for me Hit: 5 Stars
Wonderful musical performances from an extremely well done movie that would make an excellent live show. These vocals and productions are so well done that they may even serve to extend the life of these songs. On purely musical terms this Beatles soundtrack probably succeeds better than other attempts even though All This And World War II from the 70's had more big name singers(Elton John, Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, Peter Gabriel, Leo Sayer, etc.
