Free Music Review: Our introduction to arabic music

Putumayo is the finest place to hear music which takes you by the collar and shakes you until your teeth fall out. We heard Arabic Groove in an upscale electronics store, bought it on the spot, and have, since then, purchased a cd by almost every artist represented. From there we have found other groups and types of music, all of which can be traced by back to this Putumayo collection.
If you like this (and who wouldn't?) give North African Groove a try, in addition to the Sahara Lounge, and perhaps broaden your listening a bit, and step into African Groove. The world is full of music, and Putumayo is helping us find it.

I'm a big fan of the Putumayo collections -- I even like their cover art. Like the other CD's I've enjoyed from them, this one is pretty awesome. It's gorgeous to look at with full page pictures and bios of each artists that allows you to learn something about the life and background of each singer. They also did a great job mixing the songs together so that there is no dead silence. If you're a dancing fan, this one if for you. It reminds me a bit of one of their other CD's from Cairo to Casablanca which is also excellent. If you like middle eastern music (high energy version) you'll enjoy this well done CD.Free Music Review: Surprisingly one of my favorites

Of the nine Putomayo CD's I own, this is one of my favorites. I am a big fan of the Putomayo collection because the music takes me to other parts of the world. (I really like to travel, but life's circumstances often find me in my garage or kitchen in Minnesota.) Arabic Groove is energizing--often I can't get the songs out of my head. I had the CD on when my son walked through the room--he said that it reminded him of his time in Germany (where he had an international group of friends.) It is surprising where music takes you!!Free Music Review: Love it!!!

I love this C.D.!! I have almost worn it out since I got it.I play it in the car on the way to work and it makes freeway traffic bearable, I play it at home to practice and I play it in my Belly Dance class. The art on the cover is amazing, the insert has information on each artist and their music. It is a wonderful compilation of Lebanese, Egyptian, Moroccan, and Algerian music at it's best. It's upbeat rythems will make you get up and dance. Buy it- It's a "gotta have" CD.

This CD is so much better than I expected. The tracks are fantastic. The collaborative effort of several artists allows the listener to sample a range of talent. The tracks have just the right mix of modern/techno and middle eastern influences. The techno is not at all over the top - just enough to add a bit of a modern twist.The only annoying thing about the CD is the lack of a pause between songs. Other than that - I highly recommend it!
