Free Music Notes for Velvet Goldmine: Music From The Original Motion PictureFree Music Review: Definitely different, for a hard-rock fan... Hit: 5 Stars
Though I will give anything with good vocals a chance, I tend to listen to hard rock. It came as a bit of a suprise to me when I liked the music from the movie so much. (The movie was great. Allegations of it being "sick", I think, are more based in homophobia than reality.) The melodies are catching--I've been humming them constantly. Glam rock occured before I was born, so it took a different spin on things to get my attention. I'm glad I watched the movie, I'm glad I listened to the music, and while I can see why it wouldn't appeal to everyone, I think people should find a copy somewhere and give it a chance.
Free Music Review: it simply defines glitter Hit: 5 Stars
I loved the movie, and I bought the soundtrack the same day I saw the movie, which was a while ago, about March 1998. I love every single one of the songs except for "Personality Crisis". That song plainly sucks. I especially like "2HB", "Ladytron", and "Baby's on Fire". Jonathan Rhys Meyers does pretty well on that song, as well as "Tumbling Down", as does Ewan McGregor in "T.V. Eye". If you ever were a fan of Bowie, Reed, Pop, or if you even considered leaving the radio on the station that was playing their song - buy this CD.
Free Music Review: Impressive soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
I watched "Velvet goldmine" for more than five times and it is really a good film and so as the soundtrack. I bought it after I first watched the film. All the songs are impressive. I especially love " Ballad of maxwell demon" and " The whole shebang".The CD is always in my discman. I just known that the second soundtrack will be released and I must get one at that time. Both Jonathan and Ewan have good performance in the film and in the soundtrack. But I like Jonathan more in singing the song as he seems glam. I also start to hear the music in 70's,too.
Free Music Review: An outstanding representive of the glam rock era Hit: 5 Stars
I saw the movie and immediately I fell in love with the music so I went out and bought the soundtrack. I must admit that it is now my favorite c.d.Unfortunately, with all the good music packed into this C.D. they did manage to leave out a couple of the songs in the movie, such as Gary Glitter's "Do you want to touch me", "Gimme Danger" sang by Ewan McGregor towards the end and "Sebastian", the song sang by Jonathan Rhys Meyers. But even with these songs left out, the C.D. is outstanding and I definitely recommend it.
Free Music Review: A Soundtrack for the Stars Hit: 5 Stars
This is probably one of the best soundtracks i have ever listened to.I am a diehard glam rock fan, and although some important bands were left out(the new york dolls)i really enjoyed the cd, and i listen to it every day.My Favorite songs on the album are "Needle in the Camel's Eye" by Brian Eno, 2HB, Ballad of Maxwell Demon, Satellite of Love-Lou Reed and Tumbling Down. The only songs i hated on the soundtrack are Personality Crisis and Bitter's end.I definitely recommend the soundtrack and the movie.Go out and get both!
