Wow! This is a FABULOUS album! The songs are extraordinary, and the overall mood and theme tie in so perfectly with the movie, and nostalgia for glam rock in general, that I would be hard pressed to select a favorite track. Even if you are not a big fan of the genre, I would highly recommend this item -- these songs are so great that it's hard to imagine ANYONE not enjoying the sonic experience. I couldn't believe my ears when I experienced this movie. "In the name of all that is pure, is that an Eno track I detect after maybe 2 notes? Yes! Salvation!" "Wait a second! Are they going to do Ladytron! " "Please God, no! Have mercy! Not...not...BABY'S ON FIRE? " With this release and IF the republican's lose the election, there still might be hope for us all!

If it is, I'll be needing to buy a new one of these soon...I saw the movie, immediately bought the soundtrack, and have been listening to it constantly ever since. All the songs on here are just outstanding, with the possible exception of Personality Crisis, which is a bit too loud for my tastes, but hey, 18 out of 19 being stellar ain't bad. I had never hear of this movie or the soundtrack until I saw Jonathan Rhys Meyers in Gormenghast and had to watch all his movies. I at first found the movie strange, but it grows on you and the music is amazing. My favorites have to be Ballad of Maxwell Demon and The Whole Shebang. Even if you didn't like the movie you have to love the music, especially if you love David Bowie music like I do.Free Music Review: i loved the film and the music's even better.

This soundtrack exemplefies the essence of the film. rockin' music straight from the movie and based upon the songs of the era. if you've seen this film, it conjures many images that are the essence of the film. But even if you haven't it's just plain good music that everyone in my family can enjoy listening to. a wide range of styles, but always good. JRM and Ewan's vocals are very good.
