Free Music Review: Not bad, but not at all special or memorable

Did you love The Party Album? Do you still find yourself singing We Like To Party! (the vengabus song) in your head now and then? Are you hoping for a follow-up that will have the same effect? Sadly, The Platinum Album falls short.
There is still that sense of carefree fun, so that's a good thing. There are no songs you'd call "bad," either, so that's also good. Where this album falls short is in taking the Vengaboys anywhere beyond that. If you have the Party Album you're really not missing a single thing on this one. Much of the music sounds recycled from The Party Album - you VERY often hear nearly identical keyboards from earlier songs.
Yet at the same time, the songs here aren't nearly as catchy as We Like To Party! (the vengabus song), We're Going To Ibiza, Up & Down, or Superfly Slick. They're not necessarily bad, just completely unmemerable.
Unless you're a completest and simply must have this because The Party Album was so much fun, you won't be missing anything by forgetting this one. It's just more of the same, only less interesting. It gives the impression that the Vengaboys formula is a very limited one and they make little effort to expand on it.

The original idea was dance music and the two Dj's Danski and Delmundo started with dance stuff before they even were the vengaboys however, the last Cd was good, the songs were more dance songs with cool beats but after the gteat success they had they realized it was better to make an Cd with more or less pop songs to sell even more, cause it was actually "Boom" that sold the most singles and probably the reason they became so popular. On this Cd many of the songs are plain pop instead. "Shalala Lala" and "Uncle John from Jamaica" are too example what fame can do to a group. "Kiss" is a little better, but the real dance fans would laugh at this teen-pop band they became against their will. "Cheekah Bow Bow" is a dance song with a computer voice, quite funny but the single flopped so did "Skinnydippin" which is more or less pop anyway. "24/7 is another pop song with some dance sound, not that good at all. Nah this album was alot worse then "The party album" i wonder how the next one will sound.Free Music Review: The Party Album Is Great - The Platinum Album Is Garbage
