I was in high school when i first heard of the Village People. I don't remember exactly which show I saw them on: Donnie & Marie, Sonny & Cher, The Brady Bunch Comedy Hour... But I was hooked.
Being from the old south, I had never seen folks like this entertaining! And break all stereotypes they did! Policemen, Indians, Cowboys, Construction Workers, Military Guys, Motorcycle riders! These aren't the types of folks who'd expect on FIRE ISLAND!
