Free Music Review: The greatest Christmas album you'll ever find
Hit: 5 Stars

The Vince Guraldi Trio made an album that truly surpasses every category it's in. It's more than a Holiday album. It's more than a jazz album. It's more than a soundtrack to one of the most beloved cartoons of all time. It would work well as any of these, but Vince and the band integrate all these characteristics into an album that is truly transcendent. The holiday standards are played with such joy and sparkling personality that they sound all new. The originals are as festive as any of your old favorites. The childrens' voices are angelic. And, of course, it's the source of "Linus and Lucy", one of the most immediately recognizable and universally loved instrumental pieces ever recorded. As many times as that piece has been covered, by some of the best names in music, it's never come close to the warmth and personality that Vince gives it here on the original.

Whether you're a jazz fan, a Peanuts fan, a Christmas album collector, or just a fan of wonderful music, you can't be without this album. If you buy it and you don't absolutely love it, send me your ears and I'll mail you a pair that work, free of charge. ;)

Free Music Review: One of The Best!
Hit: 5 Stars

I read the reviews of this album before purchasing it for my Mom last Christmas, and I must say, that all the reviews were right on the money. The reviews spoke of an album that seemed to capture the very essence of what Christmas time is all about. The music on this album can be melancholic one moment and then uplifting the next (the music was intended to reflect how Charlie felt in the TV special). Even though the tone may change, the quality of the compositions never do; all of the songs are glorious in their beauty. My favorite is "Skating" which I think is one of the most beautiful Christmas songs of all time. I'm sure alot of you have heard this music from the TV special. So if you liked what you heard, then you might as well buy the album, it's worth it. This album would be great to play as background music at a Christmas party (because Jazz is really groovy). I would recommend this album over any Christmas album. I haven't heard that many Christmas albums but I doubt they can match the quality of music on this album. This one is a classic! Be sure and get it. You'd be missing out on something if you don't.

Free Music Review: The Best Christmas Album Ever Composed
Hit: 5 Stars

If you are looking for that special Christmas album to play during the holidays, then this is the CD for you. Vince Guaraldi and his trio put a unique spin on the sentimental Christmas songs of old. Plus, he adds some of his own masterpieces. The album starts out with two classics "O Tannenbaum" and "What Child is This?", both are the best versions of each song ever made. There are no vocals, but the piano does the singing for the song better than any human could. "Linus and Lucy" is the only track on the album that technically isn't a Christmas song, but everytime I hear it, I think of the classic TV program. "Skating" and "Christmas is Coming" are Guaraldi's own songs added to this soundtrack which have become classics by themselves over the years. You can just see the snowflakes falling when you hear the melodic piano in "Skating". Add the wonderful "Christmas Time is Here", "Greensleeves", "The Christmas Song", "My Little Drum", and "Hark, The Herald Angles Sing" and you have the PERFECT holiday album.

Free Music Review: Two Generations and Counting . . .
Hit: 5 Stars

I first watched A Charlie Brown Christmas in 1965 as a 12-year old girl, and never missed it each year after that. When I was grown, I made a point to try to decorate my tree while the program was on TV. When my youngest child (now 10) was little, we bought a copy of the video, which quickly became a favorite of his as well, and one we shared multiple times through the season as a family. Then a few years ago my husband bought me this CD for Christmas (genius that he is), and I was instantly transported back in time. It is now played around our home all through the holidays, and in our car as we go skiing and on holiday visits. My son enjoys imitating all the silly dancers during the Linus and Lucy song, and this CD has become a very special part of his holiday time as well. This music is just as fresh today as it was the first time I heard it so long ago, and will hold up for generations to come as some of the most simple, joyful, and coolest Christmas music ever recorded. It is so heartwarming to be able to share memories like this with your children and to share in and pass on the joy!
