Free Music Notes for Songs From Ally McBeal Featuring Vonda Shepard (Television Series)Free Music Review: This CD is addictive! Real toe tapping, music! Hit: 5 Stars
I am an Ally McBeal fan and especially enjoy the songs that are so cleverly interwoven with the plots, but more and more I found myself looking forward to the "club scenes" with the "woman singer" -- I discovered who she was and found the CD a couple weeks ago -- it has not been out of my (car or home) CD player since. My 14-year old daughter (who has VERY different taste in music) has not only purchased her own copy, but has introduced her friends. Vonda recently was announced for a concert in my area and sold out in 24 hours - much to my dismay! Her voice is rich, her piano playing is inventive and every song she sings sounds brand new -- even the old favorites! She is terrific and this CD is great. The band is also fantastic -- real rock and roll -- not alternative, not "new age", just full, rich rock and roll! Buy it -- you won't be sorry!
Free Music Review: The Best of Ally McBeal Albums Hit: 5 Stars
This album is the first, and also the best of the soundtrack albums from the hit series "Ally McBeal." If you're a show fan, you'll immediately would relate the songs with the scenes from the show, e.g., "Hooked on Feeling" would connect you to the dancing baby, "Tell Him" would remind you of the scene where Ally crossed the road while playing "disco-shoulder" that was immediately followed by the rest of the crowd, etc. And of course, don't forget "Searchin' My Soul," the theme of the show. Vonda Shephard sang all of these songs well, just like she sang them on the show. Overall, a must buy for any Ally fan, especially those who were nostalgic about the time when the show was still the best (first and second seasons) before the producers and writers screw it up into oblivion.
Free Music Review: Wow, truely is a must have soundtrack!!! Hit: 5 Stars
for all you ally fans, and not-fans as well, you must get this c.d!!! it's so great... it has all the great songs from the show with a touch of country style, flavoured with really tender rock. and Vonda has such a rich, real, beautiful voice that just melts me away... once you play it you automatically remember the good days of the show, and the feeling is so good.. the album starts off with the great intro to the show: "seaching my soul" which lifts my spirit every day! after that comes the great tracks: "just ask the lonely", "walk away renee" , "hooked on a feeling". the great remakes ofcoures are "the end of the world" , "in his kiss" and the wonderful "tell him". simply is a must have! buy/bye now... Free Music Review: GREAT SOUNDTRACK THAT'S SURE TO BE A CLASSIC FOR ALLY FANS Hit: 5 Stars
I do not own this soundtrack but I borrowed it from my aunt and was surprised at how much this soundtrack sets the style for the now cancelled Fox sitcom Ally McBeal. Led by Vonda Shepard who is famous for singing the 1987 Dan Hill duet Can't We Try and she sings the ultrafamous theme song Searchin My Soul. My aunt and I loved the cover of End Of The World and the Shoop Shoop Song. Other Tracks worth listening to are the ballad Maryland Just Walk Away Renee and the fun version of Tell Him. This Soundtrack is a great reminder of a now classic show. If you like Vonda Shepard check out the following albums by these artists, Jordan Hill-Jordan Hill, Patty Loveless-When Fallen Angels Fly, Kathie Lee Gifford-Heart Of A Woman and Natalie Cole-Good To Be Back,
Free Music Review: Just hit repeat Hit: 5 Stars
I recently became a fan of Ally McBeal, and picked this up in a used cd shop. I was not expecting to find such a powerful voice in Vonda Shepard, and so likable. Vonda is..amazing. I then got For Once in my Life soon after. Songs from Ally McBeal is full of the rich vocal stylings of that I love to listen to during a long drive or stuck in a traffic jam. Each track drips with power and it's such a great "sing along to" cd. The theme song is but one gem on this collection, with her cover of The End of the World, or Hooked on a Feeling... I can listen to this in any state of mood, whether it be tired and needing a quick pick me up or energetic, and wanting to sing along to Searching My Soul, with it's gal power vibe.
