Free Music Notes for Waking Ned Devine: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: The Parting Glass Hit: 5 Stars
The first time I heard "The Parting Glass" was during the conclusion of a documentary about the last game at Tiger Stadium in Detroit. This song played as Al Kaline, the Hall-of-Famer, took one last look around the empty stadium before heading down the tunnel for the last time. The tears flowed and I knew I had to find a copy of this song. I was, therefore, delighted when I watched "Waking Ned Devine" and this was the last song played in the movie. Since buying the CD I have played this one song over and over again. It alone is worth the price of the entire CD. Highly recommended.

Being Celtic, I've always been partial to this type of music, but I must say Shaun Davey has put together a masterpeice! If one wants to take a trip to the mystical shores of The Emerald Isle and never leave his chair just plug this CD in and close your eyes and let your mind wonder. After listening to the CD, the movie is a must see. After this, sorry to say You're Hooked. In my opinion one could honestly wear this CD out. Ernest Hutcherson Smyrna, TN.

If you ask me, the song 'The Parting Glass" is worth the entire album. The first time I saw that there was a soundtrack I knew I had to have it because of that one song. It is the song that really cut an impression into my mind the first time I saw the movie. The rest of the album is great, but that is the song that truely stands out in my memory. Another great song is 'The Lotto Man Cometh'. It is another song that sticks out, but not as far as 'The Parting Glass'. I would highly reccomend this album to anyone who cares to buy it.
Free Music Review: A very worthwhile, wonderful purchase! Hit: 5 Stars
Haven't been there yet, but the music on this CD (and the scenery in the movie -- yes, yes, I know it was filmed 'next door' on the Isle of Man) makes me want to go sooner and stay longer. It's what I want to believe Ireland/Irish music is. Let's face it, most Irish music is joyful but, well, raucous. This CD has a little of everything and a lot of 'suave' tunes -- easy listening, gentle on the eardrums, soothing to the soul. T'is.
Free Music Review: As Finn said to Maggie, "It's Poetry." Hit: 5 Stars
This is the first soundtrack that has not disappointed me, even a little. Even Jackie's spoken tribute to his friend Michael at the funeral is there. If you loved the movie you will love the CD. It is the first time I have heard the Waterboys and "Fisherman's Blues". I know, where have I been? I have ordered more of Shaun Davey's music because of this movie and this soundtrack. Shaun Davey, it is sheer poetry. THANKS
