Free Music Notes for Waking Ned Devine: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: A masterpiece Hit: 5 Stars
I finally have a CD player in my car. Guess which CD was first to sound its tune while I was driving? 'Waking Ned Devine' is relaxing . . . haunting . . . optimistic . . . bringing smile to my face. The CD samples folk music, Irish Rock, Blues, windpipe as well Celtic meditative acoustic tunes. The funny as well as touching themes are invigorating. By the way, do yourself a favor. See the movie too.
Free Music Review: beautiful music Hit: 5 Stars
My wife and I recently saw the movie "Waking Ned Devine" due to our interest in Ireland. At the end of the movie the song "The Parting Glass" was the closing melody. I was totally taken by this song.
I immediately bought the sound track and have virtually played nothing but this CD since. If you enjoy a variety of music, this is one of the best I've heard, ever. Buy this album, and you wont regret it.
Free Music Review: Rich, lively, and sweet Hit: 5 Stars
Previous reviewers have said it so eloquently already, but I have to chime in that I agree. This album is lively and sweet. Every song so appropriately complements it's respective scene in the film and listening to the music takes you back to each scene and the beautiful scenery of the Isle of Man all over again. Rich Irish instumentation - uillean pipes and all - make it authentic. A gem.
Free Music Review: Wonderful Irish music for a great movie Hit: 5 Stars
This is one of the best soundtracks I've ever bought. My favorite tracks are "Lux Eterna", "Michael's Ride" and of course, "The Parting Glass". Michael's "Eulogy" is so touching and I was so glad to find it was contained in the "Lux Eterna" track. Does anyone know where I could find more music like "Michael's Ride"? I love that kind of music and would like to listen to more of it.
Free Music Review: Perfect Compliment to the Movie Hit: 5 Stars
I would have bought this album for "The Parting Glass" alone. A truly immersive soundtrack which encompasses the wry humor and simple beauty of Waking Ned Devine. This film was one of those which cheers me up when I watch it, and the soundtrack allows that feeling to again pervade. A perfect sound representing a quieter, gentler place while retaining a sense of quirky liveliness.
