I have just started to get into irish music and have discovered in Waking Ned Devine, the perfect introduction. I simply cannot listen to this CD enough!! It is a diverse offering... with old favourites like The Waterboys ripping out a toe tapping number to liltingly beautiful ballads that transport you to the rugged wind swept shores of Ireland - its uplifting and relaxing.Free Music Review: Absolutely stunning

Such a beautiful movie... such a beautiful soundtrack. I recently went through an exercise of writing last wishes, medical and otherwise (hopefully for the distant future). I could think of no better song to have sung at my funeral than The Parting Glass, and my wish for this has now been recorded. I saw this movie the other night, leaving the theatre exhilerated . I wanted to call my grandparents and tell them how much I miss them and how much I love them. The music brought me back to memories of dancing after dinner, birthdays, and my mother's humming while she cooked in the kitchen. If you only buy the album to remember the movie, that is just fine. I just returned from Ireland last week and again felt impelled to watch the movie for a third time. I just knew it and the music would transport me back to "mother Ireland". The music captures the happy and the sad times. The beauty of the Uillian pipes is haunting and played with the utmost skill. I love Irish music, and Waking Ned Devine is the best Irish music I have. The vocals are great and the music is of course superb. I am recomending it to all of my friends. If you want a taste of the best Irish music around, then buy this CD right away!!! (I am going to play the Uileann pipes soon, and I hope to play along in the near future.)
