Free Music Review: What a great soundtrack!
Hit: 5 Stars

I have read other reviews of this soundtrack and the people who are giving this cd low stars don't really get it in my opinion. They say to buy the originals instead. Yes, I agree that the originals are great. However, this soundtrack is amazing in it's own way. James Mangold the director told Joaquin and Reese not to try to sound or act just like Johnny and June. Why not buy this soundtrack? They do a great job. At least Joaquin and Reese actually sing and don't just lip sync (Jamie Foxx!) I am so happy that Reese won an Oscar but I believe that Joaquin was truly robbed. The actors in this film really dedicated themselves to honoring and respecting Johnny and June's careers. While listening to this soundtrack, it really shows! Don't pay any attention to the low raters, they, as I mentioned before, just don't get it!

Free Music Review: A wonderful tribute to those paved the way!
Hit: 5 Stars

Well, ive been a Cash fan for about 3 years now, just a year before Cash passed away!...and this film about the redemption and salvation which came to johnny in the form of june, is a wonderful tribute that will remain to be galvanized for years to come!.....Now, folks here maybe skeptical about Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon singing the songs that have been with us for many years, but nonetheless, it is a tribute to Johnny and June!....and a fine tribute at that!....Joaquin and Reese pay homage and respect that Johhny and June deserve!....this soundtrack proves to be the best in years!....

May John R. Cash and June Carter Cash, Rest In Peace and be remembered for the love they shared, the music they made that has lifted our souls in blissful elation!

XOXO-RICHARD

Free Music Review: Joaquin & Reese know how to make it work!
Hit: 5 Stars

Forget the pointless review by Megan Halverson for she obviously didn't know what James Mangold had in mind when he cast these two very talented actors (and singers). The point was not to sound like Cash or Carter but to bring something new to their classic sound. In that respect both Phoenix and Witherspoon succeed brilliantly. When watching `Walk the Line' one is drawn in by the raw humanity in Joaquin's voice, and this record doesn't lose that, not in the least, and Reese is just as impressive (although I have to say that her performance was more about style than vocals). Truly shining on tracks like `Cry, Cry, Cry', `I Walk the Line', `Folsom Prison Blues' and the great duet `It Aint Me Babe', Joaquin and Reese have definitely made their mark and what a mark it truly is!

Free Music Review: Run, don't walk to see this movie.
Hit: 5 Stars

It's been a long time since I've loved a film as much as Walk the Line.
I've watched it several times, and have yet to grow tired of it.
I had never been a fan of Johnny Cash or June Carter, but their love for each other was undeniable, and the bond so strong.
It took them years to finally be together, and the journey this film takes you on leaves you wanting to know more about them, and feeling as though you knew them.
Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon deserve every accolade for their portrayals. They were not impersonators, they were the heart and soul of Johnny and June, and that comes across so clearly.
They were so incredible.
See this movie, own it, and watch it again and again-you will be so glad that you did.

Free Music Review: New fan, older fan
Hit: 5 Stars

I am not a young person and evidently was too busy raising kids to notice Johnny Cash in his prime. However, after seeing "Walk the Line" I've become a very big fan of both Joaquin Phoenix and Johnny Cash. Have purchased books, CD's, and DVD's. Frankly, I think Joaquin is the better singer after listening to the Johnny Cash CD's. Cash had animal magnitism, but neither he nor June had great voices in my opinion. I find it amazing that Joaquin could do so well when he normally doesn't sing. I saw "Capote" too and think Joaquin was more deserving of the Academy Award than Hoffman. It is not that hard to impersonate someone as strange as Capote was. Hoffman did a good job, but Joaquin did better. I play this album in my car all the time.
