ok so I didn't want to give this movie a chance due to teh fact that on the radio and the video It hought Phoenix sounded like he had a head cold. But a friend let me borrow the movie two days ago and I cried, I laughed I sang along I loved it. I've read Johnny Cash's biography and this movie is pretty close to what he wrote.. he would have been proud!
And SHOOTER JENNINGS playing WAYLON was pretty freaktastic! he did such a great job.. no need in introducing him.. you knew it was WAYLON and the song he sang was ungodly.
And it's on this soundtrack..
I highly suggest you buy both the movie (the 2 disc edition) and the soundtrack.. NOW!
Free Music Review: Awesome Soundtrack to a wonderful movie

I've always liked Johnny Cash, but after seeing this movie I am just astounded. I've never really been a 'country' music fan, but the music that this man and his future wife made was so great. Most people my age ( 24) are listening to rock, alternative and rap- which is all fine, but this music just awakened something in me. It's so upbeat even at the lowest of times for Johnny and June. I think Joaquin and Resse did an exceptional job. I saw the movie on Friday, bought the soundtrack on Saturday and I haven't stopped listening to it since. I think I'm driving my fiance and our friends crazy!!!! I would definitely buy this if I didn't have it already!!!

I truly found the music in this soundtrack to be amazing! I like that Reese doesn't sound like June, in fact it's awesome! I love her as an actress and to hear her sing is great. Joaquin is an awesome actor but this movie and soundtrack made me love to watch and listen to him. His voice is unusual and it makes these songs take a different, more modern form. I never really got into Johnny Cash but now I love them both and each singer gives something different. Reese has a goregous voice, this soundtrack makes me smile and that's all that matters! I've seen the movie three times, it's one of my all-time favorite movies! To try to portray such legends is a big task, but I think Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon did an excellent job of capturing their spirit and magnetism! Since it's been many years since I saw the Folsum Prison Concert, and Johnny and June concerts on TV, Phoenix and Witherspoon sound close enough to the voices of Johnny and June! They are believable in the movie, and this CD just brings back thoughts of scenes in the movie! I, too, especially like the duets, and their excellent acting seems like a project Johnny and June would be proud of!Free Music Review: CD of Walk the Line

I ordered this CD of "Walk the Line" for my sister for her birthday. I didn't think to order this until "very close to her birthday," and then I wanted to mail it to her myself (rather thank shipping directly to her), as I was including other items with the CD.
I ordered this from Amazon, who I can always trust to deliver in a timely fashion, with regular delivery. My CD came within 3-4 days, leaving me three or four days to get it in the mail and delivered to her the day before her birthday.
