Free Music Review: Why did I wait so long?

I didn't see the movie in the theatre, but I just rented it a few nights ago. I cannot tell you how amazed I am at how great of performers Joaquin and Reese are. They have wonderful chemistry, and it shows! I have always been a huge fan of Joaquin's acting since "Signs," and I am glad he is finally getting some much deserved recognition. Who knew he could actually sing? I am so hooked on the movie that I went out and bought both the soundtrack and the DVD.
Is it crazy to say that I prefer Joaquin and Reese's duets over Johnny and June's?
Free Music Review: Excellent Soundtrack

The music in this film is going to motivate a lot of people to go back and get Johnny Cash music on various CD's. Phoenix and Weatherspoon do an excellent job at capturing the ups, the downs and the magic of this couple. June never gave up on Johnny and the movie and the music combine to show a musical triumph involving high artistic integrity. What a story....and the music in many cases tells their story.
The actors here do a great job of singing and performing. They truly live their parts and deliver a home run in this film!

I have never been a huge fan of country music and Johnny Cash but after seeing the movie I simply had to buy some substantial pieces from J.C. as well as this Soundtrack album. It is amazing how the leading actor and actress live with the story and the music... Otherwise the movie could be just one of the "ordinary biography stories" - but they really give the extra to make the movie outstanding. Same applies for their performances on the album, singing all the classics... As the Hollywood movie magazins usually say: TWO THUMBS UP! Or even more...Free Music Review: Buy this album!

I heard Jacquin giving an interview recently, where he mentioned that the director told him not to try so hard to sound exactly like Johnny, because if people wanted to hear Johnny, they would buy Johnny, and he should just try to capture Johnny's spirit.
Did he ever!
Reese blows me away with the way she captures June Carter Cash. I had been planning on getting this album, but got it for Christmas. Have not stopped listening to it on my mp3 player!
The duet's are the best - Jackson and It Ain't Me, Babe

Much better than I had anticipated. I wish I had become better acquainted with the album, because "Time's A-Wastin'" is not on it, which is the only downside. It seems that Joaquin and Reese did not record it, except for on the soundstage? But both of those performers really stepped up for their roles and did an incredible job! I highly recommend this album for fans of Johnny and June, and Joaquin and Reese. You will not be disappointed. It was also cool that Waylon Jennings son, Shooter, portrayed his dad on the album and the movie!
