Free Music Review: Probably their second best album

First, let me start by mentioning some things I hear about Wallenstein all the time that I don't really understand or agree with. First Wallenstein were not a Krautrock band. To my ears, they sound very much like a early symphonic progressive band with some heavy rock elements as well as some "cosmic music" elements (the "cosmic music" part mainly coming from Dollase's nice piano sound). Another thing I hear from time to time is this band being somehow compared to Pink Floyd. This baffles me to be honest with you. I just don't hear anything "Floyd-like" in their music at all.
"Cosmic Century" sees the band getting a bit more diverse with their music. Bill Barone tones down his blues rawk guitar a bit, Dollase expands his keyboard arsenal and plays more moog, and the band adds a violin player. The music is still in a firm heavy synphonic style, but they have clearly gotten even more "cosmic" here (obviously influenced by their experiences with the Cosmic Jokers, and Tarot projects). The only problem I have with this album is Dollase's horrible singing. This album, and "Stories, Songs, and Symphonies" would have been so much better if they had gotten a "real singer". Remember Steve Howe's singing on his first album "Beginnings"? Well, Dollase's singing almost makes that sound good.
