Free Music Notes for Stand in the FireFree Music Review: Great Live Album Captures Singer-Songwriter Just Plain Rocking Out Hit: 5 Stars
STAND IN THE FIRE, in its new remastered version, features singer-songwriter Warren Zevon just rocking out with the best of them. The album features two songs debuted on his 1981 tour- the title track and "The Sin"- as well as four previously unreleased cuts. Although taking teasing like the humor in Zevon's songs makes you a stronger person, he was no novelty act, as this album, which has NEVER appeared on CD before, proves convincingly.
Free Music Review: Eternal Zevon Hit: 5 Stars
Warren Zevon was one of his generations great, (and often overlooked) songwriters. This collection displays his talents as a "live" performer.
It took far too long for this music to be released on CD. One of my favorite live albums. New listeners should also consider Zevon's other records, especially the "deep cuts". This guy was a whole lot more than a "Werewolf in London".
Sleep well Warren, your legacy rides on.
Free Music Review: Essential live Zevon in print in U.S. at last! Hit: 5 Stars
The sheer energy of this LP have made it one of my all-time favorite live albums since it came out on vinyl in 1980. Although it has been available as an expensive Japanese CD import, it has taken until 2007 for this album to be released in the states on CD. The long wait for the American CD release is finally over, and there are bonus tracks and extensive liner notes!
Free Music Review: Long Overdue Hit: 5 Stars
As a fan of the late great Warren Zevon, who frequented the shows of this time period in his musical life, this is one I have waited for years to get on disk. The band plays loud and hard, and the only complaint about the original vinyl was the shortness of the program. The re-release addresses that with additional cuts, long missing. Get it immediately!!!!!
Free Music Review: Awesome live album Hit: 5 Stars
It is about time they released this. I have been playing my original record in the meantime.
One of the great live albums, if you need an album to crack the plaster on your ceiling by turning your stereo up to 11 (past 10 for that little extra umph), this is the one to buy.
You won't be disappointed. It rocks. Check out "Lawyers,Guns and Money"
