Free Music Notes for JujuFree Music Review: Wayne Shorter never quites Hit: 5 Stars
Wayne Shorter just might be my favorite hard bop sax player. he delves into the avant garde without remorse, yet he keeps his roots close by his side. Juju is an amazing record. It has Shorter on Saxophone, McCoy Tyner (piano) and Elvin Jones (drums) from the classic Coltrane Quartet, and Richard Davis (another Coltrane alum) on bass. it swings. it provokes thought. and best of all it is beautiful music.
Free Music Review: Wayne's Best Hit: 5 Stars
This album is often frowned upon by jazz listeners who tend to find it too edgy and "different", but it has had a special place in the hearts of jazz musicians for years. It represents Shorter's finest compositional efforts, plus some of his most brilliant soloing.

How about Coltrane's rhythm section with Wayne Shorter! And Reggie Workman on bass is a treat! Graet playing, deep grooves, great tunes! Has jazz even improved in 40 years?
