Free Music Review: Maladroit Madness!
Hit: 5 Stars

Well the day has finally come when Weezer's new album, Maladroit, hits the stores. After the confusion of when the album was coming out it has finally made its debut on May 14! (For those of you who don't know many people/companies were saying the release date was 'this' and it was not actually truth.)... Ok so onto the review of Weezer's new tunes.
On my first play through I felt it was a little different in that Rivers Cuamo's vocals were in the background of the guitars/bass/drums. In this said it kind of makes it difficult to hear the words. In former albums I feel the voice is more 'up front'. Each song is different, which is a good thing. A good CD needs diversity to survive. I feel only Weezer can put 13 different songs together and somehow they all fit together. As I listen to each song I still find those moments in the song that make me feel awesome, either it be a sweet guitar rift or a phrase that makes me want to rock out! The CDs length is about the same time as previous albums, about 35 minutes. It just goes to show that you don't have to have a super long running time to make good music. If your already a Weezer fan than you should like this album, but if your just starting out with the 'Weez' than I suggest starting with the 'Blue' album first. Rock on! ...
I don't feel it is necessary to number each CD. The new Maladroit CD comes numbered. All I want is good music and not the glamour of collectabiltiy. As a special little bonus the CD also comes with 7 video clips that run on your PC. So all in all Weezer presents a well put together CD. Yeah!!!
*All things said are opinions of the writer and I don't speak for anyone but myself!!!!

Free Music Review: Perhaps =w=eezer's best yet!
Hit: 5 Stars

I can't really put into words on how much I LOVE this CD! I went to the local music store at around 8 AM and was first there to get it!

Song 1: American Gigalo: This song is great! I love how it starts with just the drums. 9/10

2: Dope Nose: Weezer's first Maladroit single, it's perfect in everyway possible! 10/10

3: Keep Fishin': Weezer's second single off of Maladroit, I really enjoy this song...it has an 'Island in the sun' type sound for Maladroit. 9/10

4: Take Control: This is a great song, I really like the palm-muted solo, which I don't hear much of nowadays. 10/10

5: Death and Destrucion: This is such a good, yet dark song. I really like the vocals, and the beat to it. 10/10

6: Slob: This is one of the songs where Rivers shows his vocal abilites more often. 9/10

7: Burnt Jamb: I love this song! Although, I liked in the demo versions where it starts off with a bassline. Should kept it, still great! 10/10

8: Space Rock: Not too many people like this song.....I'm one of the few that does. 9/10

9: Slave: Words can't even describe this song. 10/10

10: Fall Togehter: Again with the drums starting it off....I like! 9/10

11: Possibilities: This is a very catchy song, in my mind, this will probably be the next single. 9/10

12: Love Explosion: This is probably my favorite song on the CD. 11/10

13: December: A great way to end one of the best albums ever! 10/10

I've been a Weezer fan for awhile now and I'm proud to say that this album is their best work yet. Although, I wished they would of had something along the lines of "Only in Dreams" But who knows, maybe next time.

Maladroit: 10/10

Free Music Review: Stop complaining! Weezer can do no wrong! Here's proof!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I frankly don't understand alot of the rejection to this album I've seen posted. This is their best album! It has an experimental edge, it has catchy hook laden pop, it has gentle ballds and some fierce rock out sessions! How can any TRUE Weezer fan complain? The best tracks("Dope Nose", "Keep Fishin'") are all over the radio(not commercial but ROCK!) so that is certainly indicative of the Weez reclaiming the hybrid abrasive rough edges of "Pinkerton" and it isn't similar to the "Green album", which, unfortunatly, many Weezr purists complained about. My advice is to ignore the negative static concerning the credibility of this album you might hear. True Weezer fans are going to find something refreshing and special in this! It rocks...hard. The complaint of the "Green Album" was that it was a lukewarm sell out record, so Weezer puts out a great record in the vein of "Pinkerton" and the cry babies whine? For shame. This is their best! An artistic statment as well as an advancement in the hierchy of River's talents. Raw but focused, this is like "Never mind the Bullocks" melding with "Dookie"! It's awesome, so ignore the naysayers and give it a spin. It still holds up and will continue to do so. My only complaint is that they turned "December" into a full on band rock song. The live version was much more slow in a soothing way, but o well, it still packs a punch and ends the record well. A must have for any TRUE Weezer fan. Go buy it here at Amazon! Cheers!
(Record 5 is going to be produced by Rick Rubin, so excpect a heavy sound!)

Free Music Review: Very well done.
Hit: 5 Stars

All the songs are good. It is different than the green album. Some people might not like the fact that this CD is different. I like it when a band mixes it up and tries other things. Weezer does succeed in this on Maladroit.

American Gigiolo - 4/5 This is a great song to start an album with. My favorite lyric is "keep on, keep on, keep on..." Keep on, Weezer.

Dope Nose - 4/5 Short and catchy beats. Those Hash Pipe fans will probably like this song the best.

Keep Fishin' - 5/5 Definitley one of the best songs on the CD. The video is a classic. Probably the closest sounding song to something found on the Green Album.

Take Control - 5/5 I think the bridge is the best part of the song and so is the guitar solo.

Death and Destruction - 3/5 Kinda depressing, but good. Pinkerton friendly song.

Slob - 2/5 Probably my least favorite. Nothing spectacular.

Burnt Jamb - 5/5 Probably the most creative music. The title does not make sense, but dont pass this one by. I like it because it's up beat and happy at the beggining and then goes into this dark guitar solo and back to happy again. Real creative.

Space Rock - 3.5/5 Not much to say here. Good beat for sure.

Slave - 4/5 Good song but I don't think this is single worthy.

Fall Together/Possibilities - 5/5 I put these songs together because they sound like one song on the cd. Sound like 80s new wave/punk. Good stuff.

Love Explosion - 5/5 You'll be hooked after listening to it about 3 times.

December - 4/5 Slow song. Very different than the rest of the CD. Good way to end a good CD.

Free Music Review: *Gulp*... the Best Weezer Album to Date?
Hit: 5 Stars

Oh, it's so, so hard to say those words... with the brilliant college radio pop/rock that is/was the Blue Album, the lyrical brilliance and spine-tingling emotion of Pinkerton, and the pop/punk (kinda hard to call Weezer PUNK, but as far as that sound goes, the record was there) epic that was the Green Album... it's kinda hard to imagine another masterpiece.

Well, we got one! After getting into the mood with the sarcastic-seeming "American Gigolo", "Dope Nose" and "Keep Fishin'" give us the pop/rock blasts that we've known to expect from the band. Throw in a metal touch ("Take Control"), Dashboard Confessional with talent and integrity ("Death and Destruction", "Slob"), the best elevator song ever ("Burndt Jamb"), something 'out of this world' but still fun ("Space Rock"), a little drama ("Slave"), something that sounds like an ode to Sigmund Freud ("Fall Together"), New Found Glory without the tweety bird vocals and cheesiness ("Possibilities"), and Pavement after listening to all the Beatles records for 5-6 years straight ("Love Explosion", "December")... and you've got yourself not just a varied pop/rock album, AND not just worthy of the Weezer name... but something that you'll wanna throw in again and again, because it just might be the best record they've produced to date. It has all three of those characteristics mentioned of the other albums, plus its own touch. ... I listened to it four times two days ago, four times yesterday, and two times so far today. ... Time for a third listen.
