Free Music Notes for Weezer - Deluxe EditionFree Music Review: Run out and buy this...and the DVD Hit: 5 Stars
Almost 10 years after it's original release, weezer gives us a Deluxe version of The Blue Album. I would recommend this for just about any fan. If you don't have the blue album, you're probably not even reading this. If you have the blue album but don't have all the import singles from that era, it's a great way to have CD quality b-sides. And we get a much better booklet with lots of never-before-seen pics and (finally) lyrics. If you have all the songs except Lullabye for Wayne, Undone from the Kitchen Tapes, and the full band version of I Swear It's True, buy it anyway for the cool packaging and nostalgic value. It's nice to have two new weezer releases to hold us over until album 5. =w=
Free Music Review: The Most Memorable Album in Anyone's Collection Hit: 5 Stars
Nothing in this review is going to say somthing that hasen't been said. That said, this one of the classic albums to own. Like a fine wine, this CD gets better with age. Its hard to imagine the first days I heard "Buddy Holly" and "Say It Ain't So." Many bands try to duplicate them, but there is only one Weezer. The best song on the Album is "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here." Whether rocking out or chilling out, this guys always find a way to put a smile on my face. The digital remastering and bonus disk only add to an already awsome package. "Jamie" is another hidden classic. Buy this album without hesitation.
Free Music Review: no surprise, here Hit: 5 Stars
fact is, if they rereleased the original _blue album_ as is, with no remastering or bonus tracks, it'd still get a perfect score from me (not that it wouldn't be a little annoying). but instead, it's the _blue album_ remastered (the drums and vocals sound great!) and repackaged with a slew of new artwork and a second disc of rarities, demos, and b-sides from that period, including the infamously magnificent, heavily bootlegged and downloaded triumverate: "suzanne," "jamie," and "mykel and carli". and on top of that, some acoustic renditions, some live tracks, and the early demos. great package.
Free Music Review: For True Weezer Fans Hit: 5 Stars
Alright, well this is a great cd for those of you who are true Weezer fans. In my case, both cds were a great buy because my old blue album has gotten scratched to the point of not working. I'm sure it has happened to some of you, too. Anyhow, the second cd is great and full of songs you'd wish they had put into a cd earlier. However some of you, people who probably liked the green album a lot, may complain it's not their 'good stuff'. Well, like I said above, this collection is for true Weezer fans; the fans that liked what Cuomo did in the beginning and wished that he did more of it.
Free Music Review: Better every day Hit: 5 Stars
The blue CD in general never leaves my CD changer, and I dont forsee it ever leaving. Its just about as close to perfect as you can get. The addition of the 2nd disc just makes it better. Its great to finally get "Mykel and Carli", "Suzanne", and "Jamie" on the same CD, and to hear Weezer stripped down (the acoustic tracks, and the Kitchen Tapes) really make this Band stand out as one of the best out there. In Particular, the acoustic version of "No One Else" is great. Also, these guys can really sing.
