Free Music Notes for Weezer (Red Album) [Deluxe]Free Music Review: Different but still great. Hit: 5 Stars
This album is definitley a detour from Weezer's other albums, but I think it is a succesful and interesting one. It took a few listens to soak in because it is so different, but songs that I originally dismissed like The Greatest Man that Ever Lived is now one of my favorites from the album. I would definitley put this above Make Believe. I think that Miss Sweeney is a great song and should be on the actual album instead of being a Bonus Track. I know that the earlier Weezer albums have more merit, but this album still holds up as a good Weezer album and a great rock album in general. It is still a lot better then most bands out there today.
Free Music Review: Very, very good, but where's "The Weight"? Hit: 5 Stars
Red Album figures among one of my favourite albums, and these 4 extra tracks are really good. The only "problem" with this Deluxe Edition is: it is not complete! "The Weight", included in the UK version is one of the best songs of this phase and it should be in this version.
For those who can buy it on iTunes, it's an option. In Brazil, we can't buy songs on iTunes yet (due to legal issues), so I bought another CD with the same 10 songs + The Weight... Now my girlfriend is complaining about how many versions of the same album I am going to buy (I did the same with Zeitgeist, from Smashing Pumpkins). :)
Free Music Review: Stop comparing apples and oranges Hit: 5 Stars
14 years later and people are still comparing new Weezer material to the Blue Album. Matt Sharp left the band after Pinkerton; please stop comparing apples and oranges!
There is no reason why this album should rate lower than Make Believe. After reading some of these reviews I started to wonder if I was listening to the same album.
The standard album only has one weak track: "Dreamin'"
My favorite tracks are "The Angel And The One" and "King"
In conclusion, don't listen to the haters; this is one of the best rock albums of 2008 and Weezer's best work since Pinkerton.
Free Music Review: Still Weezer Hit: 5 Stars
I was like everyone else didnt care much for the album thats why i wated till now to write a review. All i got to say to the haters out there weah weah cry cry. This is a great album i even hear them on the radio its great.I like this as much as the blue album actually i love weezer no matter what they always have fun songs on each of their albums. I wouldnt hesitate to buy this if you dont have it already.Do your self a favor and dont listen to the haters its been over 10 years since the blue album you cant expect the same thing change is good so is the red album.
Free Music Review: Whoa!!! Classic Weezer Hit: 5 Stars
This cd just gets better with every listen. Just some background I like the entire Weezer back catalog, favorite being the blue album and least fav being Maladroit. This is right behind the blue album in terms of quality. "The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" is the greatest song Weezer has had in a long while and a huge leap forward for the band. I only disliked two songs out of the fourteen so it is more consistently good than a lot of reviewers would have you believe. For Weezer fans and casual fans this album is a must!
