Free Music Notes for Off the Deep EndFree Music Review: Still a master of his genre Hit: 5 Stars
Pure genious, well silly genious! Weird Al has been a favorite of mine since i was much younger and this album is no letdown. I have been known to listen to it on repeat many times because not only are the titles so funny i started laughing just reading them, but the music is top notch. Yes Al does write original material as well as parodies and songs "in the style" of artists; I must say each attempt at those 3 approaches on this album is pure gold. I am a music student as well so i know talent and polish when i hear it. This album will delight the comedic enthusiast as well as a "Weird" newcomer to his work. It brings you back to the music scene of that time and reminds you why it is good to make music fun and light-hearted. I fully recommend this cd!

Free Music Review: I can't be the ONLY one.... Hit: 5 Stars
Yeah, this album is really funny. All the other reviews have established that, but I have actually cried listening to "You Don't Love Me Anymore"! It's not exactly a 'sad' song persay. The lyrics to me are among the funniest he has ever written and part of the appeal I think is that the mood and vocals set out to disguise the humor with pseudo-seriousness. I am aware of this fact, but it gets me everytime. What else can be said... I love Taco Grande's food, but the song here is the low point of the album. Everything else is good. And if you are like me, have a tissue handy before track 11!
Free Music Review: It sure beats raising cattle!!! Hit: 5 Stars
One of Weird Al's best albums. While the songs are all clever and witty, the Taco Grandes of the album are...well..TACO GRANDE about the joys of going to Taco Bell, Trigger Happy--a glorious tribute to the Second amendment--with lyrics that one does not hear everyday, I can't watch this--about the horrors of modern television(done to Rick James's Super Freak) and finally the glorious send up of the uber pretentious Nirvana hordes--Smells like Nirvana--which has effectively replaced the original Smells like Teen spirit as THE song to this listener. Great stuff. A Classic.
