Free Music Review: His Best Work To Date!
Hit: 5 Stars

Hello, my name is Timmy and this is my review:

You want a laugh? You want to laught till you cry? Then buy this album! It contains Weird Al Yankovic's funniest work to date and will make you say, "I love Weird Al" again. A problem I've had with this guy's past albums is that sometimes his songs just get a little too stupid. Not so here. Every song is packed with wit and even insight. Take his song "Jerry Springer" (wonderful spoof of "One Week"): It's a hilarious song, but it also seems to be saying something about today's culture. And his song "All About the Pentiums" pretty much mocks those who always feel like they need to buy the "newest" and "best" computers as soon as they come out. As Weird Al gets older, he gets deeper.

Not to say that he's still not completely hilarious. The album closes with his every-single-hands-feet-all-bodyparts down most funniest song ever, "Albaquerque." (I know I mispelled that; sorry.) It's a 12 minute song that will leave your side aching with laughter. Seriously. It's one of those songs that stays funny every time you listen to it. I'd go as far to say that just this one song is worth the money alone!

Buy this.

Free Music Review: Albuqerque!
Hit: 5 Stars

I almost didn't give this album 5 stars. I think we all really could have done without "Truck Drivin' Song". "My Baby's In Love With Eddie Vedder" and "Your Horoscope For Today" are OK originals, but he is capable of SOOOO much better. "Grapefruit Diet" is a tolerable parody, but it's too reminiscent of "Fat".

Now that I've knocked my mentor down a peg, I'm going to pick him back up. THIS ALBUM ROCKS!!!!!! Tracks 1, 3, 5, 6, 9, and 12 are some of his very best material! "The Saga Begins" and "It's All About the Pentiums" are among his best parody material. "It's All About the Pentiums" is the perfect Geek anthem!!! As for original stuff, he thoroughly redeems himself with "Albuquerque". That track is the most amazing, original, astounding, incredible, miraculous piece of rock I've heard in a long time! "Germs", despite being a bit dated (it's inpired by NIN), is also very enjoyable.

All in all, I am proud to have this CD in my collection - both as a Weird Al fan and as a human being with a sense of humor.

Moral of the story: I hate sourkraut!

Ok, ok...

The *real* moral of the story: BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!!!

Free Music Review: Weird Al is your Lord and Master now...
Hit: 5 Stars

If you are a Weird Al fan you should already own this CD, and if you're not then buy it and you will be converted in no time! The parodies are hilarious as usual, and his original songs just keep getting better and better! I have to agree with another reviewer and say that "The Saga Begins" is the single greatest song Weird Al has ever produced; it is very clever, showcases his amazing singing voice (as opposed to the whiny nasal fake voice that made him famous) and is actually more of an homage to both "Star Wars" and "American Pie" rather than a spoof. "Albuquerque" definitely grows on you, though the first time you listen to it you'll probably be like "What the...? " And of course everything between these two tracks (i.e., the rest of the CD) is worthy of praise and repeated listenings. Also, I imagine this has already been mentioned, but this is an enhanced CD so if you ever get sick of listening to the tracks (like that could ever happen) you can pop it into your computer's CD drive and watch a nice little Weird Al movie! Well, I'm out, so buy this CD or you will regret it for the rest of your insignificant life!

Free Music Review: "Weird Al" Returns With Scissors!
Hit: 5 Stars

The first track "The Saga Begins," is a thoughtful, well written homage to the blockbuster film "Star Wars; The Phantom Menace," and it also pays homage to the sentimental Don MacLean hit, "American Pie."

I will say this. The other parodies are just as well written, but I tend to look at the ignored material.... the originals! For some reason, people think that Al only does parodies. Let's be realistic, here. He wouldn't be able to live on parodies, alone.

One of my favourites has to be "Truck Drivin' Song." A country sound, with lyrics that make the listener think of a transvestite. On the other hand, why couldn't it be a female with a really low voice? Hey, it's Al. Anythin'g possible.

"Germs" is another notable original piece by Al. This talks about a person who want to "really want to be alone," but it dosen't happen. The "microscopic bacteria" keep returning.

The entire album is fun, and entertaining. I really wish that Al would do an entire album of originals. He's very clever, and a talented musician. He definetly could pull something like that off.

Free Music Review: One of the funniest CD's of all time!
Hit: 5 Stars

Man, this has gotta be Weird Al's funniest CD to date! It's the only one I've heard all the way through, but I'd be surprised if any of the others were this good. My favorites are "Albuquerque", "Grapefruit Diet", and "Jerry Springer", but they're all hilarious. Al covers just about any kind of music you can think of on this album: punk, ska, Tejano, rap-metal, even country, and ties it all together nicely. Two of the songs sound really cool musically: "Germs" is kind of a techno-industrial type song, loosely a parody of Nine Inch Nails' "Closer", and "It's all About the Pentiums" rocks pretty good (I know it's based on a Puff Daddy song, and while I'm nowhere near a Puff Daddy fan, I actually quite like it). Also, that Jim West guy is a pretty good guitarist, whoever he is ("Albuquerque" has some pretty good soloing in it). Anyway, if you want to find some good funny stuff that also sounds cool, you need look no further than "Running with Scissors". With the exception of some Primus stuff (cuz Les Claypool is just nuts), there may not be a funnier album.
