Free Music Review: The King of Comedy Reigns Supreme!
Hit: 5 Stars

WOW! Awesome! Amazing! Superb! Fantastic! Spectacular! Notable! Classic! Terrific! This CD rocks! I could listen to this all day and not get bored. Wait a sec, I do listen to it all day! This CD is so addictive. I loved Albuquerque (yes that's how you spell it) so much I have decided to do it for the school talent show! I don't know if I was picked buy enough about my problems. Let's talk about yours. Obviously you're reading my review to see what people think of this CD. And I know one wannabe fan said this CD was a quote "turnaround" but pay absolutely no attention to that, that, person. He will be forgotten. To the gallows of elder fans is his destiny. Anywho, you have to listen to the demos. It will totally convince you. When I heard I was going to be the Rabbi in the school play I had just listened to the CD and it really made me do better on stage. It is a great CD to listen to when you're bummed. It is fantastic. It's hilarious! I am an avid fan. I have 9 of his CD's, and each time he comes out with a new CD it's better than the last. So keep listening! I have!

Free Music Review: Ranks up there with IN 3-D
Hit: 5 Stars

I've been an Al fan since his early "Another One Rides the Bus" days, and I've consistently kept up with his work. "Running with Scissors" is, technically speaking, one of his best. With every album, Al and the Stupid Band get better at mimicking not just the lyrics, but the overall sound of the originals. "Running with Scissors" shows the fruits of 19 years' worth of "getting the sound just right."

I notice that Al's humour in "Scissors" is more biting than before and less somphomoric. Kind of like graduating from Mad magazine to National Lampoon, if that makes any sense. Another review here likens the change as a departure from the world of mere parody and a foray into the world of satire. I agree. As Al gets older (like we all do), I think he's staying in touch with his core group of long time fans, who are also growing more sophisicated in their choice of humour.

So buy it. It's witty. It sounds good. And best of all, buying it ensures that Al will be back with more for us.

Free Music Review: Fan-freakin'-Tastic!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This album is awesome. I was wandering through my local recvord store not looking for anything in particular when i saw it at one of the listening stands. When i heard the Saga Begins and Polka Power i literally burst out laughing right in the middle of the store! Everyone was giving me starnge looks. Having listend to the CD endlessly for the past 4 weeks the Eddie Vedder song has really grown on me - that accordian hook is just so catchy. I still love that Polka song, esp his rendition of Madonna's Ray Of Light complete with whooping whistles! My only piece of criticism is that Grapefruit Diet and Truck Driver song should have been completely cut out, they're boring and not one bit funny. Other than those two though, the rest of the album rocks! By the way, the reason the album is so listenable is because the parodies are so close to the original songs, so they never become just repetative comdy pieces. In fact I can no longer listen to Pretty Fly for a White Guy without expecting the Klezmer music hook to suddenly kick in! A MUST buy!

Free Music Review: It's worth the wait between RWS and Bad Hair Day.

Here's an overall review of each song. The Saga Begins (parody of American Pie): Very clever. Accurate to the movie. Star Wars fans should love it!

My Baby is in Love with Eddie Vedder: Catchy music, but no catchy lyrics.

Pretty Fly (For a Rabbi) (parody of Pretty Fly {For a White Guy}): Okay. It kinda let me down. It's still has it's laughs.

The Weird Al Show Theme: Nice one to put in.

Jerry Springer (parody of One Week): The best surprise! Funny!

Germs: The paranoia just isn't funny.

Polka Power: Nice arrangement of songs.

Your Horoscope for Today: Second best surprise. Very original. Funny.

It's All About the Pentiums (parody of It's All About the Benjamines): Funny for all PC users.

Truck Drivin' Song: Sick. Too extreme. The cross dressing lyrics made me say eewww the first time I heard it.

Grapefruit Diet (parody of Zoot Suit Riot): Falls flat. The lyrics seemed recycled from "Fat."

Albuquerque: The most original, funny, and strange song on the CD!!!!!!!!! It's great!

Free Music Review: Very simple: if you want to laugh, buy this CD
Hit: 5 Stars

I have always been a fan of Weird Al. I have all of his CDs, videos, etc. And without a doubt I can say this is his most enjoyable record to date. Unlike virtually everyone else reviewing this, I actually like his original songs more than his parodies. "Your Horoscope" is an incredibly random song that will remind you of "everything you know is wrong". Whenever I'm in a bad mood, I'll listen to "The Weird Al Show Theme" just because it's so incredibly bouncy. "My Baby's in Love with Eddie Vedder" is a great example of Al's mastery of music (In this case, zydeco). "Driving a Truck" is a 90's version of Monty Python's classic "I'm a Lumberjack". And the parodies are amazing also. "It's all about the Pentiums" is now my theme song. Throughout this album, Weird Al consistently shows how smart and how tuned into pop culture he is. This album is a must have for anyone who wishes to laugh.
