Free Music Notes for Allow Us to Be FrankFree Music Review: Bad move..... Hit: 2 Stars
Having been a fan of Westlife and their wonderful harmonies for a few years now, I was anxious to order this new cd. I was hesitant for two reasons, however. One, Brian McFadden (a strong member of the original group) has gone solo and two, they were attempting bratpack songs! The result is pleasant to the hear but void of any feeling or soul.....enough said......go back to the pop sound!
Free Music Review: Sorry Frank - it's not your fault Hit: 1 Stars
On behalf of Frank if feel very sorry for him cause this album is not really a need to buy ! The songs are nice arranged but without any heart and soul. What could be the reason to buy this CD ? Flat and dry voices with nothing different or special. It sounds like a studio project where nobody spent a lot time to train these young voices! I'm soory but if anybody has ever heard a Sinatra Song from whom ever, Diana Krall, Jamie Cullum, Harry Connick Jr. or even Robbie Williams .... There is an endless list of really good song interpretations Frank would be very glad with. This CD has nothing special and most of the songs are not even in the right tune of these boys! Their short breath versions of some really lovley songs just show the high quality of 2004 's technology. But no techology can get you body & soul in the right tune. If you want to swing in a good mood please do not buy this poor Album, try "Only You" - Harry Connick Jr. last album or any soulful album ;-) and you'll feel the difference
Free Music Review: Are you kidding me with this? Hit: 1 Stars
This is karaoke at it's worst. One other reviewer said in here:
"Mostly the credit must go to the enormously swinging back-up orchestra." That's because it is note for note, instrument for instrument exactly the same back as the original. Listen to Westlife's "Ain't that a kick in the head", then go listen to Dean Martin's original. There's no difference! I would not be surprised at all if they sang to the same records, just with Dino, Sammy or Frank's voice edited out. These guys are horrible and should stick to screwing over the pop scene and leave the standards alone.
Think I'm being mean? Check this review from the Stylus website:
"Opener "Ain't That A Kick In The Head" is the most destructive thing to have happened to Dean Martin since emphysema."
I really can't improve on that.
Folks, if you like this music, listen to the masters. Not the wannabees.
Free Music Review: Be Westlife, NOT Frank! Hit: 1 Stars
I LOVE Westlife, they have excellent voices and albums. But not this! This makes me feel like I'm back in the 50's. I thought they would only be singing Sinatra's SONGS, not impersonating his voice as well! You can hardly even tell it's them singing because it doesn't sound like them. The 50's tunes & whistling also makes it sound like they're recording this at the circus. This album is absolutely terrible! If you like their other albums - all of which are excellent - you probably won't be too fond of this.
