Free Music Notes for Face to Face AlbumFree Music Review: Back to the Basics for Westlife Hit: 4 Stars
I simply couldn't listen to Westlife's "Allow Us To Be Frank";it was in all proportions absolutely idiosyncratic to a boyband that has been made famous by their pop music and stupendous ballads. "Face to Face" is the album which takes this Irish group back to its origin, that is,pop and love ballads. The best song in this audio CD is by far "You Raise me Up" albeit one would possibly rate it below Brian Kennedy's version of the track. The sombre tone and undulating music is a fantastic treat to the ears and so is "When You Tell Me That You Love Me",which features the Pop Diva Diana Ross and this add the cherry to the cake. Of course "Desperado" and "Colour My Life" are reminiscents of other great singers and though this reveals to some degree a lack of originality on the side of the band,but.....then again, that is art,old wine in new bottle. On the whole, not necessarily "Face to Face" is the best so far of Westlife but is a welcome respite after the Sinatra tribute bizzareness.
