Free Music Notes for Face to FaceFree Music Review: The Latest And Greatest From Westlife Hit: 5 Stars
I have to say this album is the best by Westlife thus far. I'm ashamed to admit that I first thought it would just be "okay" without Bryan (Brian, whatever) McFadden. But they have really proven me wrong. This CD is awesome. I LOVE the covers. That's always been something I like about Westlife. Anyway, here's is the song by song deal.
YOU RAISE ME UP- I liked this song by Westlife, but it's very hard to make a better version than Josh Groban. His voice is amazing.
WHEN YOU TELL ME THAT YOU LOVE ME- I first heard this song on American Idol last season. I think they even released it?? But I do like the song and Diana Ross is a great match for Westlife.
AMAZING- I love this song. Mark is great here.
THAT'S WHERE YOU'LL FIND LOVE- Great song. I like how Shane sings pretty high in parts.
SHE'S BACK- I had not heard this song before hearing it from Westlife. Regardless, it's a great song. I love the "Tell me why the hell I hear music..." part.
DESPERADO- Before hearing this album, I thought Clint Black had sung the best version. But I now know that Westlife has taken that top spot.
COLOUR MY WORLD- This is my favorite song on the album. I can't even believe Mark's voice. Awesome. And Shane really puts a lot into it, too.
IN THIS LIFE- I had only heard Colin Raye sing this before hearing it here. I have to say I like Colin Raye's just a tad better. But it really was a great choice to put it on this album.
HEART WITHOUT A HOME- I loved this song from Nick Carter and I love it from Westlife.
HIT YOU WITH THE REAL THING- This song reminds me of "Everyone" from BSB's Black and Blue album. The background does anyway.
CHANGE YOUR MIND- My favorite after Colour My World. I love the upbeat nature. It's one of those songs that puts a smile on your face.
MAYBE TOMORROW- I love this song. I can't believe it's not on some of the other version of FACE TO FACE that have been released.
I definitely recommend buying this album and any by Westlife. I just wish they were as big here in the US as they are worldwide.
Free Music Review: Westlife Comeback Hit: 5 Stars
I've been a Westlife fan since I was in Primary, when they first came out, and with their latest album, Face to Face, I've been hooked onto the songs.
Their comeback album, after the interesting "Allow Us to Be Frank" experiment, is, as the 5th track suggests, amazing. Even tho Brian McFadden left the band to persue a solo career, Westlife do not disappoint at all.
Their first track might seem boring to few who aren't accustomed to such a genre, but the vocals are very different to their debut--more mature, more controlled.
The tracks following are simply magical. Amazing is definitely my absolute favourite, without a shadow of a doubt. The tune is catchy, it's upbeat, it's sweet, and it's very Westlife, just the kind of music you can imagine them singing live easily.
Some tracks made me quite uneasy at first, especially She's Back and Change Your Mind, because Westlife hadn't successfully produced such tracks, but after a few times of listening, I realized, hey, it's just something fun to kick off your shoes and sing to.
So any Westlife fans out there who have not bought this album have missed out their very best album ever.
Free Music Review: Hey! I've heard that song before Hit: 5 Stars
It's been one album a year for Westlife since their debut in 1999, and after last year's Sinatra tribute "Allow Us To Be Frank", this one is a nice switch back to the pop ballads that made them famous.
You may recognize several of the songs on this album, especially the first single "You Raise Me Up" made popular recently by Josh Groban, except that now it has bagpipes. Second single "When You Tell Me That You Love Me" features Diana Ross, and music fans will also recognize "She's Back" (Human Nature); "Desperado" (The Carpenters, Eagles and others); "Colour My World" (Backstreet Boys, even if theirs is spelt Color); "In This Life" (Bette Midler, Ronan Keating) and "Heart Without a Home" (Nick Carter).
The rest of the album is typical Westlife, except for "Hit You With The Real Thing" which sounds more like N'Sync or Five, and "Change Your Mind" which has a retro sound reminiscent of "I Can't Help Myself" (Sugar Pie Honey Love)" by the Four Tops, The Supremes, The Temptations and others.
An album that will make most Westlife fans very happy.

Free Music Review: Better than ever Hit: 5 Stars
The boys from Ireland are back and better than ever!!! I don't care that the songs on this new album are covers. I think Shane and Mark with the harmonies of Nicky and Kian have surpassed Josh Groban on "You Raise Me Up". I love all the tracks on here, especially "She's Back" and "Amazing" All though, I do wish they had found someone other than Diana Ross for "When You Tell Me That You Love Me". I didn't care for Ms. Ross's voice back in the 60's and it sure hasn't improved with age.
My only other complaint is that in order to get all 12 tracks I had to buy mine from Amazon.uk. when this cd was released. It is unfortunate that record companies think they have to have different versions (or in this case, one less song) for different parts of the world. We all pay good money to hear our favorite artists and we should all be given the same recordings for the same price. Now, Amazon.com offers two versions of this cd, and charge approx. $10.00 more for one more song. WRONG!!!!
Free Music Review: Shining like the stars they are! Hit: 5 Stars
After their pretty neat Ratpack collection of songs on their sixth album Allow Us To Be Frank, Westlife return to their usual routes. Trust me, if you liked albums one to six, you should have absolutely no problem what so ever with this. My favourite songs are Amazing, Colour My World, Hit You With The Real Thing and Change Your Mind. Amazing - the best out of the bunch - is exactly what it says it is. It sounds alot like a Backstreet Boys (BSB) song to me. Speaking of which, Colour My World, was originally recorded by BSB, though their version is spelt color. It's a brilliant song, and they get their voices fairly high. Hit You With The Real Thing was a immediate suprise for me. This is Westlife like you've never heard them before. It's an uptempo number, though it's not like songs like Uptown Girl or World Of Our Own at all. Change Your Mind has a feel of 70s retro pop, and the other tracks are absolutely overwhelming aswell. Get this!!
