I have to confess I hesitated to buy this album; I've always been a Whitesnake fan but I thought I would discover a mediocre release like many other heavy metal bands from the 80s that have tried to come back after 20 years. I was so wrong and I'm very glad I took the leap of faith and bought it. Nothing short of extraordinary. David Coverdale's voice - just like wine - gets better with age; and Coverdale masterfully assembled an outstanding set of musicians.
What you won't find in this album: a rock anthem like Here I Go Again and a power ballad like Is This Love. But if your soul fills with energy when you listen to Still of The Night, that's what you'll feel with every song in this album. Thank you David for giving me such pleasure!
