Free Music Notes for Endless Wire (W/Dvd)Free Music Review: Endless wire THE WHO Hit: 5 Stars
From the first few seconds into this cd you realize that this
is a for real WHO album just like the old days.It is expertly put
together by the industries top pros.Pete Townsend is the best and
plays many, many instruments on this,Daltry is better than ever and
Pete's son and Ringo Star's son are the new Who members.A minute into the first song hear one of the best piano sets of the century ,so far.
there are a couple of sleepers on this but everthing else is top of the line. The 20 minute DVD is outstanding and shows Zach Starkey doing
Keith Moon to a tee.I predict at least 5 #1HITS. This album will become
legendary and go triple platinum easily.
Free Music Review: It really is 5 stars. But... Hit: 5 Stars
I'm not going to hem and haw. Pete Townshend is one of only a very small handful of completely brilliant genius composers who came from the 60's British Invasion (You know their names). He is in exceptionally fine form on this album. He, Roger Daltrey and Co. have captured the spirit of The Who's greatest moments of days past while equally tapping into the very best of Pete's solo work ethic, lyrical poignancy wit and style.
I am very into this CD. I think you will be too. I only wish there was more Zak Starkey on this record. He is only on one track. He is absolutely fantastic and the best drummer for this fantastic music.
Fine wine here folks. Drink it down!!
Free Music Review: The Who are back! Hit: 5 Stars
Wow! I was not expecting such an accomplished album from the remmants of this legendary band, in fact I was expecting the worst. I should have known better. "Endless Wire" is a testament to Pete Townsend's songwriting prowess and Roger Daltry's vocal abilities. The music and lyrics have a definite punch that has not been heard in the realm of hard rock in many, many years. As one previous reviewer said a lot has changed since The Who's last studio effort. With all the corporate pop/hip-hop drek that litters the music world these days it is refreshing to hear that real rock is not dead. We need The Who now more than ever to lift music out of the wasteland. Long live rock!!
Free Music Review: Great Hit: 5 Stars
The actual album not the Wire and Glass, is an amazing piece. The first three tracks are great, the fourth is a slip up it is as if they were trying to sound like Louis Armstrong. The fifth through the ninth are wonderful. The Wire and Glass opera is without saying a wonderful addition to aleady great album. I recently saw The Who in concert, in Salt Lake, and they played the whole Wire and Glass and much of the actual Endless Wire album. I especially like how they changed their sound, going from Flock of Seagulls on acid on It's Hard to James Taylor meets Johnny Cash with this cd. Pick it up. It'll cost you about 13 dollars but it's is worth the price.
Free Music Review: Real...enjoyable...honest...something else Hit: 5 Stars
I must admit that I listen to this album almost every day. No, it's NOT WHO'S NEXT or QUADROPHENIA...but it's surely not FACE DANCES or IT'S HARD. Townshend has always been the creative force behind this band. The Kenney Jones records felt quite half-hearted...impacted by Townshend's addiction and subsequent recovery...but reactive to Keith Moon's death. No...Keith and John are gone (and missed terribly), but Pete has perhaps crafted the most honest and heart-felt and consistent record under the Who moniker since Quadrophenia. Bravo...and give it a listen instead of just reading the reviews complaining about this album.
