Free Music Notes for Endless Wire (W/Dvd)Free Music Review: Wonderful comeback Hit: 5 Stars
New Who colors after all these years, Daltry channeling Tom Waits, acoustic numbers, cribs from past great material but reconstructed...not only better than recent Stones and Dylan lps, but able to stand with the Who's best work. Townshend remains a mediocre playwright for his 'operas', but the music as recorded here mitigates any flaws. This will grow on you - the minor complaints on this page will disappear over time, it doesn't suffer comparison with any Who album excepting perhaps "Sell Out" and "Next", which are the masterpieces. Get it while it's cheap.
Free Music Review: New Who different than the old Who. Hit: 5 Stars
This album will be misunderstood by a great deal of listeners. What makes it so attractive is its diversity. As a buyer you get a great deal of bang for your buck. The only weak track on the album to my ears is In the ether, but otherwise there is an amazing amount of great stuff. From fantastic acoustic numbers like God speaks of Marty Robbins to the fantastic Mike Post theme. This is great stuff with full liner notes with lyrics. Go out and spend $10 to celebrate a 24 year delay from the greatest live band of all time. A nice collection trust me..
Free Music Review: Holy *$#%!! The Who did it again!! Hit: 5 Stars
Yes, Townshead and Roger did it again! This is a great, great Rock album. This sounds like a great Who album, in the same stature as all their great classic concept albums. Great tunes, great playing , great sound. If you like all those great albums like 'Tommy', 'Quadrophenia' and 'Who's Next', you definitely wont be dissapointed. Pete can still write some amazing songs and the Who can still rock hard. Highly recommended, one of the best albums of 2006.
Free Music Review: Very well done! Hit: 5 Stars
After listening to this CD several times- I find the music here to be among the most satisfying ever done by The Who. Flawless production, great guitar and vocals- and a profound sensitivity by Townsend and Daltry never done ever before by the Who. Truly brought tears to me eyes at times. The heavy synthesizers and pounding guitars have been replaced by a clear, elegant balance of all instruments- and moving vocals. Very Well done!!
Free Music Review: The Who continue to amaze. Hit: 5 Stars
The CD is a beautifully crafted effort by The Who. Personal favorites are "A Man in a Purple Dress", "Mike Post Theme", "You Stand by Me" "Unholy Trinity" "Mirror Door" and "We Got A Hit".
The lyrics always matter in Who/Townshend recordings and Pete delivers again. Rock & Roll with a conscious. Like "Who Sell Out" and "Who By Numbers" before it,the songs expand lyrically and musically on each listen. A must buy.
