This contains 2 discs. The first disc is the Original Broadway Cast,which won a Grammy Award. The music and lyrics were composed by Stephen Schwartz. The cd features Idina Menzel as Elphaba, Kristen Chenoweth as Galinda, Norbert Leo Butz as Fiyero, and the rest of the Wicked Cast.
The second disk has 8 tracks. LeAnn Rimes, Delta Goodrem, Kerry Ellis, Stephanie J. Block, and Idina Menzel; lend their voices to 3 remixed Wicked songs. One recording, "Making Good", featuring Stephanie J. Block, is a never before heard original audio of her singing a song while working with Stephen Schwartz. Idina Menzel sings a fantastic remixed version of Defying Gravity that will give you chills.
The rest of the songs are from the German cast recording (As Long As Youre Mine, No Good Deed) and the Japanese cast recording (Dancing Through Life, Popular). Hearing these beloved songs translated is quite entertaining.
The case is beautifully redesigned with new pictures and a new booklet in addition to the original booklet. It also has a Wicked timeline on the case chronicling the musicals last 5 years.
This is A MUST for any die hard wicked fan!!!

When we saw Wicked for the first time , it was the day after it opened in NY. It was Halloween night in 2003. We had no idea what to expect. Seeing Idina Menzel As Elphaba, was a jaw dropping experience. We just couldn't wait for the cd to be released on Dec 16. Since then we have seen the show 4 more times, and have gone to every Wicked Day.
After hearing that a new cd was being released for it's fifth anniversary,
we were thrilled. Now that we've listened to it, a gazillion times, We can't wait for the tenth anniversary.
This is an amazing cd, hearing songs in Chinese and German is a thrill, and hearing the dance mix, just wants to make you ,ah, uhm,
defy gravity!!!!

Bought this for my Girlfriend who is a wicked fan. After taking her to the musical, she wanted the music. I managed to find this here at amazon with the original cast singing the songs. She loves the booklets with the pictures of casts from different countries and the "sing along" book. I highly suggest for boyfriends everywhere, who have girlfriends who are Wicked fans to get this.Free Music Review: Wicked

My husband's niece saw it on Broadway, NYC, a couple months ago and she raved about it, so I ordered the CD. I live in Provo, UT and listen to it every day and sometimes more. He commutes to the Bay Area, Northern CA each week, where he suggested we should see in San Francisco, since he enjoys it also. I just got i just opend itand now i am listening to it it is awsome i thought it would just have the original cast recording and the bonus songs with like one more picture or something it comes with a book full of pictures and the lyrics book from the origninal cd i am very happy with this it is wonderful
