Free Music Notes for Essential Willie NelsonFree Music Review: Captivating Compilation of Classic Songs Hit: 5 Stars
This is potentially the most thourough collection of songs of Willie Nelson. These songs just characterize the old legend. I really enjoyed the first CD. "Blue Eyes Crying In the Rain" and "Georgia On My Mind" truly capture his sentimental side; while "All Of Me" and "Whiskey River" demonstrate his upbeat side. The second CD was really my favorite. Heartwarming ballads like "Always On My Mind" will remain in your minds forever; while classic duets such as "Pancho and Lefty" with Merle Haggard and "Seven Spanish Angels" with Ray Charles will make you keep on listening for endless years to come. This album is truly a must-have for Willie fans.
Free Music Review: Quality Willie Hit: 5 Stars
A Quality collection from a true legend. This collection covers all the bases and record labels that this legend has recorded for. This collection is a tad bit skimpy on the Liberty and RCA material, but it would take a 3 or 4 cd set to include all the good material. It would have been nice to include "Yesterday's Wine or "Mr. Record Man" or from the Columbia years, Willie's version of "Let it Be Me". No collection is perfect and this is the best Willie collection out there. This collection is filled with Number 1 hits and covers 5 decades, WOW This collection deserves 10 stars, it is that good!!! All the classics and quality duet material is included in this collection
Free Music Review: From Wilhelm I to Willie Nelson....great men will shine!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Although Willie Nelson's Hohenzollern lineage has been debated for years, there's no doubt that he's the reigning emperor of country music. And this Willie will never abdicate the throne. From "Always On My Mind" to "On The Road Again," Herr Nelson places us into the cockpit of one of the greatest thrill rides in contemporary music history, and all we can do is gasp for air. He may have traded in his pointed helmet for pig-tails, but there's more than one way to skin a cat. If anything, this self-professed "Outlaw" has been proving that all along. Gitty-up, my dusty-jeaned hombre!!!
Free Music Review: An outstanding collection of Willie Nelson's best Hit: 5 Stars
This is an outstanding collection of Willie Nelson's best recordings and an excellent summary of his career. The first disc of the two-disc set contains the very best of Willie's singles, from the early Nashville days to the Outlaw days to the more recent country-western hits. The second album is an excellent collection of Willie Nelson duets and collaborations, him singing with a wide range of other singers and groups.
This is about as good a collection of Willie Nelson's opus as you'll ever find or ever need.
