Looking for that solid, anointed, workshop-type "comfort-gospel" traditional vibe that has earned WCMC a place in the hearts of people who follow good under-the-radar music? It's back with IT'S NOT OVER.
I have every one of this underrated choir's sets. Just about all of them have that unpretentious and honest quality about them that let you know they were truly prayed over before, during, and after the recording.
All of them except the last one, 2001's IN CONCERT. I was really surprised, and hoped it was just a fluke. It was an all right set, but nothing more.
IT'S NOT OVER is a true return to form, and everything you'd expect from WCMC. It's really a textbook example of what gospel music should be about: encouraging, interesting and engaging to listen to ... and from the heart.
2007 is shaping up to be a banner year for truly inspiring gospel music, and IT'S NOT OVER seems to prophesy that it truly isn't over.
