Free Music Notes for WintersunFree Music Review: One of My Personal Favorite Albums Hit: 5 Stars
Just a peek at my other reviews would tell you that I'm not exactly the kinda guy that just listens to metal. I go through my folk metal/black metal/death metal phase every now and then, but there are only a few bands that I can truly call myself a fan of. Of those would be Ensiferum, Týr, and Wintersun.
Jari Mäenpää doesn't fool around with his musicianship; it shows and glows here, whether it be his guitar ability, the intricate structures of the music, or just the pure songwriting craft he has on display.
This is an album that even me, a not really a metal person, can enjoy endlessly.
Free Music Review: Jari Maenpaa Is Amazing! Hit: 5 Stars
This album is the definition of ''Epic'' in music. Every single song on this album is a masterpeice. Each song is filled with amazing, mind thrilling lyrics and beautiful works of music. Jari Maenpaa has impressed me like ive never been impressed before. Weather it is Harsh vocals or Clean singing, Jari has all of the talent in the world to provide us with a mind blowing album. The way that the songs range in tempo such as in ''Beyond the Dark Sun'' to a slower tempo in ''Death in the Healing'' shows me how diverse and original of a songwriter Jari is. I HIGHLY reccomend this album to anyone.
Free Music Review: Legendary already... IS it the best metal album ever??? Hit: 5 Stars
we'll try a little experiment here: if you agree that it's the best metal album (i guess EVER), click on the "yes, this helped me button"... and obviously opposite if you feel in opposition.
let's call it democracy!
this /could/ be kinda interesting because this album is honestly on most people's top 5 that are "in the metal community" and Jari really is a genius... it's truly achieved Legendary status in merely a few years, and not from just a niche, but from the whole.
ok... without further delay...
Free Music Review: great album here Hit: 5 Stars
i picked this up one day after after listening to a clip of one of the songs figuring i'd give it a try since i had heard it is similar to Children of Bodom or Kalmah and such. I think i listened to it 4 times through in a row it was so good. This piece of metal is just great, its got a nice melodic/viking/folk whatnot sound to it thats not quite like anything i've heard before. i would recomend this to anyone who likes good metal.
Free Music Review: Excellent Folk Metal Hit: 5 Stars
Great album overall. I am definitely surprised that this band has not gained more recognition. All of the instruments are amazingly well done. The singer/guitarist is sick at guitar. His neoclassical solos are a major highlight of nearly all the songs. The drumming also suits the music incredibly well. What I like most about this album is the focus on melody present throughout the album--it's not all about riffs. Go buy it!
