Free Music Notes for Wire: & All the Pieces Matter - Five YearsFree Music Review: The Wire - Great Songs Hit: 4 Stars
Listening to the Wire soundtrack brings back all the great memories of one of TV's best series ever. A great collection of songs from varying genres is interspersed with dialogue fragments for the five seasons. All of the renditions of the theme song are here, except for Steve Earle's. As an added bonus, the extensive liner notes reveal the producers' thoughts re: the series and the music.
Free Music Review: If your a fan.Must Have ! Hit: 4 Stars
I bought this CD for one song call "The Fall". "The Fall" is song that ends every show of the Wire. Also like the famous quotes in the CD interludes.Like the first quote of the Wire. When McNulty is seating with a witness looking at a dead body and McNulty can't understand why the young dead man keep coming back to this hot spot. The witness reply "This is America, Man."
Free Music Review: soundtrack to the city Hit: 4 Stars
Lots of great rare old fashioned r&b plus wonderful versions of the Tom Waits title track ... I would never have come across Jesse Winchester if it hadn't been for The Wire. But the music is also a great intro to black urban music, placing it for a white guy like myself, and giving a context that otherwise wouldn't be present. All good.
Free Music Review: The Wire Hit: 4 Stars
A compilation of high standard.
I don't necessarily love all the songs of the cd, but the combination of the music and the quotations amended with some interesting comments from behind the scenes really give back the feeling of the show and a little more.
A must for all fans.
Free Music Review: Good Stuff Hit: 4 Stars
If you are a fan of the television show, then this is required listening. While it won't have every piece of music that stands out in the show it will have the ones you think of first.
