Free Music Notes for The Heart of EverythingFree Music Review: A MUST HAVE ALBUM for haunted and vampire type show fans!!!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I bought Within Temptations "The Silent Force" and "The Heart of It All" because my wife is a huge fan of "Vampire Diaries" and has gotten me to watching it enough that when I saw the music was for sale I thought it would make a great gift. Man, was I right! For Vampire Diaries fans, having this music is almost like having the show around you all the time (particularly "The Heart..."). Just very upliftiing, awesome music with a hint of haunted/wicked. The Silent Force is a good companion piece. The Heart of it All is a must have.
We are big fans of good "haunted" music, including Midnight Syndicate. We have felt some of Midnight Syndicates music has fallen off in the last few years and that it's not really adaptable to all occasions (which is understandable as they do haunt attraction music). "The Heart of It All" is the PERFECT combination of haunted music and mainstream to where you can play it repeatedly and it's not got the dead times in it other similar music has. Plus it's not the kind of music that if you are playing it leads to questions, as it is very good, mainstream acceptable music.
For fans of haunting, over the top, great music, The Heart of It All is a must have and is addictive! We founded The Haunted Enthusiasts ([...]) and travel the country year round to visit haunt related attractions. So it's basically Halloween year round for us. This music is the best we have ever heard for our purposes and at the same time it is so good/mainstream that no one would know you are listening to something tied to Vampire Diaries or haunted type activities. VERY GOOD!!!!!!!! Can't recommend it enough!!!! Jim Patton - The Haunted Enthusiasts [...]
Free Music Review: Fantastic and emotional Symphonic Rock Hit: 5 Stars
Traditionally I was a progressive rocker. King Crimson, Yes, Genesis, Pink floyd...you get the idea. But in the late 90's I started listening to two different kinds of music, Metal (Godsmack, Rammstein, Disturbed) and oddly enough some Sarah Brightman. I got interested in Brightman because she reminded me of Kate Bush and Tori Amos....a bit. But it was the techno layers and beautiful vocals that drew me to her music as I am not at all interested in Opera.
Then one day I saw The Heart Of Everything listed as "people who like this....might like that..." on either amazon or another site. I sampled a few songs and purchased the album. Suddenly a whole new genre opened up to me. Amazingly beautiful female vocals with dark and progressive like music. A bit of metal but not over the top, the perfect blend. As a musician I also started to encorporate this style into my writing.
I have all the WT albums now and this is still my favorite with Mother Earth being my second. Since discovering WT I have added Delain (if you like this you have to get Lucidity by Delain, Sharon guests on it along with many others), Lacuna Coil, The Gathering, Leaves Eyes and many others. I'll be honest, I don't like the gothic metal when there is a lot of the male grunting or growling (none of which is on this album) nor do I like what I call machine gun drums. There is a lot of that in some of this genre, Epica does it though I love some of their tracks as well.
OK, I got off subject. Love this album, also look for the two download bonus tracks Sounds of Freedom and Blue Eyes.
Great Music
Free Music Review: The Howling made me a fan overnight! Hit: 5 Stars
Outstanding! I'm a newbie to this genre of music, but in the short time I've been into it I've been exposed to Within Temptation, Evanescence, Nightwish, Epica, and several others, and Within Temptation is my favorite of them all.
My background is guitar shred music, jazz, and classical. While in the past I've enjoyed the poorly labeled neo-classical shred genre, which is a sad misnomer of the term neo-classical, it was inevitable I'd outgrow it when every other artist out there offered too little substance once I actually did start listening to "real" classical music. In the end, I liked the gothic sound but was put off by the too often poor thematic development and harmonic motion that just became too predictable and derivative of one another.
I wouldn't have guessed that 15 years later, taking that genre of music and making the guitars heavier, pronouncing the string ensemble textures a little more, enlisting a choir in the background, and fronting the band with a beautiful soprano whose tone is silky smooth yet can be assertive on demand and having her sing themes that hook and haunt you would be the way to revive that neo-classical stuff into what it should have been in the first place.
I've become a very big fan of WT virtually overnight, and this release is a great one. It certainly offers nothing new, but it solidifies WT's place as the chief artist in the genre.

First off, though I am hardly new to symphonic rock, I am new to Within Temptation. And I feel extremely fortunate to of discovered this band.
If you love symphonic rock, stop reading this review right now and buy this album. Don't even waste your time finding out what my opinion is, just know you must own this!
Alright, now if you are still reading this here is exactly what I feel about this band and this album:
This album contains music on a truly epic scale. This album is, for lack of a better word, perfect. From the truly rocking guitars, to the beautiful strings, to the ambient and dark choir like voices, to the very deep and amazing lyrics, to the pounding drums, and of course to the heavenly vocals of Sharon Den Adel (this woman can sing like no other in my opinion, even surpassing my prior favorite of Amy Lee).
To get some idea of their sound, what I came up with is this simple formula:
Kamelot + Epica + Evanescence = Within Temptation
Enough said...buy this album, and experience true music.
Free Music Review: Another great album by WT Hit: 5 Stars
First I'd like to make one note. There are three versions of this album out. This version is probably the smartest choice. It's less than half the cost of the imports and it also includes one more song, Stand My Ground. Sure Stand My Ground has already been released on Silent Force. But you're still talking about half the cost and one added bonus song. It sounds like a no-brainer to me.
I got into Within Temptation with their album Silent Force. I immediately fell in love with their music. Their mix of orchestral music and heavy mettle riffing along with Sharon's amazing voice range landed their music as an instant staple in my collection.
This album is no less amazing. The lyrics can be related to by anyone. The variety in each song keeps the album from getting dull or redundant.
If you like Within Temptation, this album will not disappoint. If you've never heard their music before, I heavily suggest both this album and Silent Force. This album would probably be a great starting point, though, given it's price.
