Free Music Notes for Woman on Top - Music From The Motion Picture
Free Music Review: Smooth, Romantic, and Sexy! A worthy CD to have in your collection.

This is my one and only Bossanova type CD I have in my collection that I truly enjoy and is a gem to have. I've sampled other Bossanova CDs looking for this type of exotic, smooth, romantic music with a flair of sexy...and this one kept rising to the top. I finally purchase it and never regretted it. It's a great CD to have for romantic dinners or even for *gasp* lovemaking!
To me, all the tracks in this CD excel. Usually, I find that there is one or two tracks on any music CD that I don't like, or just seem mismatched to the rest of the music. But that's not so with this CD. Each track is equally well made and elegantly done. The biggest mismatch is using it for the actual movie "Woman on Top" which I've read is a less than stellar film. (I haven't seen it, but I'm not rushing out to see it either.) Unfortunate, as this is a real worthy CD that deserves to be on "top". However, the sexy movie cover does seem appropriate for this CD.
If you're looking for that special music for dinners that is exotic, romantic that stays smooth to the end and has that flair of sexy in it, this is a worthy contender! There are no rushed songs or sudden drastic tempo shifts - it's smooth and well done all the way to the end. If you don't know the language spoken (I don't), that's fine...all the less distracting, especially during your romantic interludes. The music and vocal talent shines through so much that it just goes beyond the words being spoken.
On a side note: My husband especially loves track 8 "Sonho Meu" which is one of the two more upbeat songs on this album. He calls it the Yorky song due to the unique but cute soft musical "yaps" that song starts with. Every time we hear it start we giggle because it reminds us of our little Yorky dog. I hope that doesn't spoil it for you - leave it to my dear husband to pick up on something like that and make light of it - but it's the song he wants started first as it gets him into a jovial but romantic mood and leaves the stress of the day behind him.
"Woman on Top" deserves top billing over the movie - if not more so! It's thoroughly enjoyable and pleasant to the ears and heart.

The highly listenable album features contemporary Brazilian artists such as singer-songwriter Lenine; pop-rocker and Joao Gilberto sound-alike Paulinho Moska; and the three-DJ collective Bossa Cuca Nova putting a new spin on a classic Geraldo Pereira tune. It also includes gems such as Maria Creuza and her delicately wavering voice, and guitarist Dori Caymmi performing one of his father's songs.
