Free Music Review: Another genius trait of Woody
Hit: 5 Stars

Well. I admire Woody Allen as a Movie director, writter and Actor. This CD, is really "different" in the sense of the type of song, rhythm and his particular interpretation style. Just another positive aspect of "Woody"

Free Music Review: The Woodman Strikes Again
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought this album after seeing him and his band play at the Hotel Carlisle in NYC. He's incredible live, and the CD successfully captures his raw sound. This venture leaves no question about Mr. Allen's artistic brilliance.

Free Music Review: Woody's Wild Bill

Free Music Review: A good introduction to New Orlean jazz from the Woodman!!!
Hit: 4 Stars

I think that this album is very good, but the title is a little misleading. the title calls this album a "soundtrack," but it is no. It contains music from the film and other wonderful recordings, but none of them are the live versions seen in the documentary. Listening to this music after just seeing the film for the first time, I think it is really mindblowing to hear how good Mr. Allen is as a musician. there is none of that "stargazing" which was the only problem with the film. Here, a person has a chance to hear great New Orleans jazz played by a wonderful group of people. Special notice should be given to the wonderful Eddy Davis who plays banjo, handles all vocals and produced this recording as well as being the musical director of the band. this album serves as an introduction to New Orleans jazz, and I plan to buy other albums in this genre. I have been a jazz fan for some time, but my tastes normally run to Miles Davis, Monk, Coltrane and Bird. I am glad to always discover new areas of music to enjoy and this album serves as a great jumping off point!!!
