Free Music Review: Hitting Their Stride

I loved Wrinkle Neck Mules debut CD Minor Enough, even though the production didn't do the band any favors, failing to capture the essence of the band in concert. The material was generally top notch.
Release number 2, Pull The Brake, was a small leap forward in terms of capturing the excitement of WNM, but the songs themselves didn't always answer the challenge.
The good news is that on The Wicks Have Met the band seems to have hit its stride and is developing an indentity of its own. The production is first rate and the songs are given plenty of room to unfold. Primary vocalist Andy Stepanian really sounds confident here and the playing is, as always, excellent. I recommend it.
