Track4-8/10 would have been a 9 or 10 but redman is garbage
Track5-9/10 Killa is serious rel good solo
Track6-10/10 The ODB and Snoop part was a 7 but gza tears it up
Track7-10/10 Has every wu member except ODB so it has to nice
Track8-10/10 This song is hardcore Raekwon Nas Rollie tear up the track. Best song
Track9-10/10 Rza and Ghostface do a great job with Isaac Hayes
Track10-7/10 More of a commercial song to me
Track11-7/10 Didnt like beat or Busta Rhymes
Track12-7/10 Another Commercial song
Track13-10/10 Deep from the heart realness shows wu tang greatness
Bonus Track-8/10 nothing too good
Overall I think the W was their most versatile album and would have been a little better wit a very little more ODB. I think all the other members are better than him. The album was near perfect.
Free Music Review: Witty Unpredictable Talent! Hit: 5 Stars
I like this album because the beats are fat without revisiting old styles. However, I almost gave it 4 stars due to the lack of GZA. Surely I'm not the only one who is sick of Meth and Rae (still excellent MCs no doubt) hogging the Mic. Why do the Wu themselves proclaim Justice as the best MC and then only provide glimpses of his talent on their major recordings?Anyway, although they have had their recent lapses, the Wu are simply incapable of delivering a 1 or 2 star effort. The best tracks are 'Chamber Music' (Wu intros are always bangin'), 'I Can't Go to Sleep', 'One Blood Under W' and 'Do You Really (Thang Thang)'. This album belongs to MK and Deck for their fresh and confident delivery, although as usual you'll hear mostly from Rae, Ghost and Meth. Street Life appears unbilled as the first rapper on 'Dou You Really (Thang Thang)'. Great stuff, the only reason many believe Wu could have done better is because they have dropped A-bombs like Cuban Linx and Liquid Swords!! Could Puffy have done better?
Free Music Review: Wu-Tang Clan Comin' Atcha Hit: 5 Stars
For anyone that thought the Wu fell off (which never happened), this should put those feelings to rest. The Wu went back underground. You would never guess that most of the tracks were recorded in LA. My only problem is the lack of ODB, which some people may find to be a plus. On my first listen I only heard him twice and he just doesn't seem that into it ('Conditioner') when he's not all cracked up. Rza's back on the boards which is welcome, so needless to say the beats area mad crazy. And the only non-Rza track, the Mathematics procduced 'Do You Really (Thang, Thang)', is completely on point. There's a nice sampling of all things Wu here. Classic raw underground 'Careful (Click, Click)', commercial head nodders 'Gravel Pit' and a little bit of experimentation 'I Can't Go To Sleep'. It's tight and they were really into making this one: if you don't have it you should. [Note: If you're thinking about your first Wu CD you should consideder 36 Chambers:Enter the Wu-Tang]
Free Music Review: Hyperdimensional Robosonic Ish! Hit: 5 Stars
RZA is beginning to scare me. His beats are so innovative. His flow is so bizzare. I'm beginning to think the man may transfigure into some sort of Hyperdimensional being. Simply put, this album is TIGHT! It is balanced between traditional tracks that'll get the heads bobbin, and totally bizzarre unique sonic innovations that will blow anybodies mind. One that really stands out is Careful (Click Click) which has these sparse minimal beats interspersed with this bizzare underwater video sound. RZA starts the track with a really weird flow too. The other one is I Can't go to Sleep with Ghostface goin insane from the pain over a 70s soul track complete with Isaac Hayes chorus. Here too RZA comes on and starts spewing forth like some madman. Other peeps'll love Redbull featuring Redman, and Protect Ya Neck (Tha Jump Off) and the Shaolin Finger Jab, both featuring Method Man and Raekwon in top form... but I'm tellin ya man, RZA ain't from this earth!
Free Music Review: Wu-Tang ....FOREVER Hit: 5 Stars
After coming off the success of their last album, "Wu-Tang Forever," this album shows us more of the Wu-Tang Clan from their debut album, "36 Chambers." This album has all the right aspects of being album of the year. Two Great lead singles, "Gravel Pit" and "The Jump Off," and the rest of the album has great highlights to add. The collaboration with Nas on "Let My Niggas Live" and "Redbull" which features Redman, are lyrically perfect, and can easily be new singles. This album goes back to the Shaolin background sounds as it did in the first, and it makes the album much more classic and enjoyable. Busta Rhymes shows up on the track "The Monument" and Snoop Dogg has a hilarious track with none other than the Ol Dirty Bastard himself on "Conditioner" Overall this album has no part where it lacks, just great tracks, that RZA produced....
