Free Music Notes for WFree Music Review: Wu-Tang Clan strong as ever! Hit: 5 Stars
Wu-Tang Clan's third effort is an hour-long album worth every penny. RZA is once again doing the beats for the album. The beats are trademark great, short loops with samples, strange effects and also piano and violin sounds here and there in perfect combination as only RZA can. The W features also few guests who contibute nicely to the album. 'Conditioner' is the only track in the album featuring ODB as he teams up with Snoop. The chorus of the song sticks like a glue with ODB rhymin 'MC conditioner, U could never say this boy's a amateur'. One of the quests featured is good old Isaac Hayes who appers in my mind on one of the best tracks of the album 'I Can't Go To Sleep' mixing in perfecly with the Clan. There's also one extra track in the end of the album. Because the album is only an hour long, it's a tight package of Wu-Tang Clan at it's prime again. Definitely one of the albums of the year, if not THE album.
Free Music Review: TRU BLUE WU(not for everyone) Hit: 5 Stars
This album is the kind of stuff that Wu made back in it's 95 glory dayz. I love all the songs on here accept "conditioner". the best song on this album to me is "do you really(thang thang)" not because it's commercial but because it's a flat-out freakin' banger. all these people who don't like it do not truly appriciate authentic wu-tang sound because that is what this album has. it's impossible to compare THE W to ENTER THE WUTANG 36 CHAMBERS because ENTER came out with a sound that had never been heard before and while THE W is vber similar to it, it's not new it's different. Wutang makes music for people who love the stuff that they put out , it's not for everybody. If you are a genuine wutang fan who loves the Wu sound then you MUST get this album. If you have never heard of The Wu or don't like there style then leave this album alone because it's not for you.
Free Music Review: RZA, GZA, O.D.B, INS, RWKN, U-GOD, GHOST, METHOD, MK, CPDN Hit: 5 Stars
RZA HAS RETURNED WITH A VENGENCE, HE PRODUCED ALL THE SONGS ON THE CD EXCEPT FOR ONE. THE BONUS TRACK ON THE CD, SHOULDN'T BE A BONUS TRACK, IS ACTUALLY BETTER THAN SOME OF THE SONGS ON THE CD. RZA BEATS ARE FURIOUS, AND SHARP. GHOSTFACE IS AT TOP OF HIS GAME ON THIS ALBUM. U-GOD SHINES WITH HIS DELIVERY, CONTRIBUTING SOME OF THE BEST LINES ON THE ALBUM. IF YOU DON'T HAVE U-GOD'S ALBUM REDEMPTION, PICK IT UP. CAPPADONA WAS IMPRESIVE ON HIS FIRST WU ALBUM HAS AN OFFICIAL MEMBER, AND LOOK OUT FOR HIS SECOND SOLO ALBUM SOON. NOW IF ONLY MASTA KILLA WOULD COME OUT WITH HIS ALBUM, THE SET WOULD BE COMPLETE. BUT OF COURSE, ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS WAIT. WU-TANG IS MORE THAN JUST A GROUP. LOOK OUT FOR OTHER WU ARTIST DESTROYING THE MIC. ARTIST LIKE CILVARINGS, REMEDY, AND SOLO PROJECTS FROM PR TERRORIST,AND BERETTA 9 FROM KILLARMY SHOULD BE THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO.
Free Music Review: What if this was their second release???? Hit: 5 Stars
In my opinion, the only reason this CD isn't taking off is because it followed the commercial release of their last CD. If this CD followed the "36 Chamber" classic, excluding the Ol' Dirty and Snoop track, this is a great follow up for the true Wu' underground heads. Rza went back to producing tight trademark tracks and the entire Wu Clan came with the hard rhyme flows. "Hollow Bones" is one of many tracks that remind you of the Wu Tang Clan of old. There are a lot of members of this group and mic time is a valuable thing. The need for cameos is not a must for this group. Though I respect RedMan and Busta, the Wu has plenty of talent with in the group. For example, the track "One Blood Under W", Masta Killa spit the illest verse I've ever heard from him in the past. The Wu is back to their original form with this one. I lovin this CD big time! oNe
Free Music Review: MC CONDITIONER! Hit: 5 Stars
I have to say, I expected more when I heard the Wu were droppin' their 3rd album, "The W." Don't get me wrong this album is dope, but not their greatest. The first track, "Chamber Music," is pretty sicc, it's a highlight on the album. Track 2, "Careful (click, click)" is a rugged, grimmy, NY street track. They came correct with this one. The third track, "Hollow Bones" is my favorite, an instant Wu classic. After that, "Redbull," comes on, Redman does well with it and the beat is clever. After that the best track is, "I can't go to sleep," this is a beautiful song. All the instruments playing together in harmony, it's dope. RZA is truly a genius, all production on this album is good, which is rare from producers these days. I just hope they make a 4th album...
