Free Music Review: Wu Tang gets better and stronger all the time
Hit: 5 Stars

The Wu Tang Clan consistently manufacture brilliant rap melodies and beats. No other group compares to their calibre of pure hard rap music. The kind of pulsating thumping rhythms and gritty mind-blowing lyrics that's guaranteed to get the nerves jingling every time.

A Wu Tang album is an automatic buy for me. No matter if it's an oldie or a new release. What can I say? They are the best. Iron Flag is another classic to add to my treasured collection. I loved every single track, definitely no fillers here.RECOMMEND RECOMMEND RECOMMEND.

Free Music Review: Wu there?
Hit: 3 Stars

Not bad. Better than previous albums. Definately better than "36 Chambers". Not a bad buy.

Free Music Review: straight wack
Hit: 2 Stars

Wu fell off, no doubt. Even wacker than the W. Perhaps 3 tracks is hot, the rest is jus commercial. If ya like mainstream, get it. 4 shaolin nigguz its poison.

Free Music Review: Light years better than THE W but nothing like 36 CHAMBERS
Hit: 4 Stars

Considering all of the weak hip-hop material that has came out in the past couple of years, especially in 2001, this is actually a decent drop.

After the HUGE disappointment from the worst album of the year THE W, I was 110% convinced that the Wu was finished for sure. Then only about 6 months later they drop another album. When I first heard about this I thought to myself what in the hell is the Wu doing? It made too much sense to ignore the fact that the move to drop ANOTHER album so shortly after such a disappointment was going to be nothing less than an enhanced catastrophe for the clansmen.

To my surprise I found out this album is not too bad. Nothing like RETURN TO THE 36 CHAMBERS and not exactly compared to the Forever album (such mixed feeling about that album still to this day) I found that IRON FLAG is one of the best drops of 2001 (one of the very few). Before I purchased this lp I thought to myself about how much of a disappointment this is probably going to be, but I had heard some pretty good reviews about the album and thought a lot of those reviews are probably just your usual Wu groupies but I had the wrong idea. The Clan actually got it together and came as one unit (minus ODB) to put out a good/great album.

In the Hood: +++ (amazing intro, simple yet amazing)
Rules: +++ (has its moments both good a bad)
Chrome Wheels: ++++ (best track don't let the title fool you)
Soul Power: ++ (grows on you but is pretty weak)
Uzi: +++ (incredible instrumental here)
One of These Days: +++ (catchy hook no doubt)
Yall Been Warned: ++ (weakest track)
Babies: ++++ (touching music here)
Radioactive: +++ (Gza rips it, beat is weak)
Back in the Game: +++ (nice overall, commercial track)
Iron Flag: +++ (this one grows on you)
Dashing: +++ (commercialism material but nice)

Overall I would give IRON FLAG around a 3.75 star rating which is a good rating especially for an album from the past year 2001, which was the worst year hip-hop has ever seen. If you are the common ex Wu fan as I am and are skeptical about this purchase then I would advise you give it a try, IRON FLAG compared to THE W is like comparing LIQUID SWORDS to BENEATH THE SURFACE, there is a MAJOR difference.

Free Music Review: An improvement of the W
Hit: 5 Stars

Well, alot of people didn't like the last Wu-Tang album, the W, mainly because some of the beats [were bad]. The Iron Flag has smoother flashier beats courtesy of RZA and other producers. Ghostface Killah only rhymes on a couple of songs, Raekwon, GZA, Method Man and U-God turn in the best performances for the clan. Ol' Dirty Bastard who is in prison serving a 2 to 4 prison sentence didn't get to record on Iron Flag so crazy Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav guests on Soul Power, since he is crazy and just giving shout outs on the song, he sort of replaces ODB's maniac energy. Overall the Iron Flag has good beatsm good rhymes by the clan, so it's much better than The W.
