Free Music Review: It's Aight
Hit: 4 Stars

I like The Carnival and Preacher's Son better, but this is listenable. As far as musically, Wyclef's improved, but he is kinda immature on this album. "Where Fugees At?" is a good beat, but why's he askin? Supposedly it's his fault that they split up, according to Pras(though he's not a very reliable source). Clef also makes the mistake of trying to take on Canibus, his former protege(Canibus blamed Wyclef for the failure of his debut, and dissed him on "2000 B.C."). Clef is obviously no match for Canibus and if 'Bis retaliated on him, Clef would be finished. Besides those mistakes, and the horrible "Dirty South", Clef seems to have grown a little. On "Perfect Gentlemen", Clef defends strippers and tells the story of a romance between him and a stripper(likely false). The album misses that Fugees vibe that was still there on The Carnival. The less know guest appearences are boring, but the big names are funny and acceptable. Kenny Rogers, of all people, sings on "Kenny Rogers Dub Plate", where Wyclef and other rappers rhyme over a beat as Kenny sings the hook. This song is surprisingly likeable as is "It Doesn't Matter" which has another surprising guest, wrestler The Rock. On "911", Clef teams up with Mary J. Blige to showcase his actually not bad singing voice. Besides the awful Whitney Houston team up on her dub plate, Clef seems to have it down. Songs like "Hollyhood to Hollywood" and "Diallo" showcase his amazing creativity once again, the latter which is based on the case of the police shooting a man named Diallo 41 times for nothing. One of my favorite songs is "Wish You Were Here", which sounds alot like "Gone Til November", because of Clef's flow from singing to rapping. Basically, get Clef's other albums first(The Carnival, Preacher's Son, the fugees Score, and Pras' Ghetto Supastar).

Free Music Review: Haters run Wyclef Jean is at it again
Hit: 5 Stars

This album is great. He's got two diss tracks, "Where Fugees At"(Pras, Lauryn diss) and "However You Want It"(Canibus diss). He's got emotional songs like "911", "Diallo", and "Hollywood to Hollyhood". He also has fun songs like "It Doesn't Matter", "Perfect Gentleman", and "Something About Mary". Overall this album is mostly good. I think he could've done better, but overall this is a must-by.

Free Music Review: A very weak "4"
Hit: 4 Stars

this cd gives you very mixed feling's, on one hand it is very good, i mean just listen to "diallo" "911" or "runaway" which all are ver.. umm excuse me, EXTREMLY god songs. But on the other hands many of the songs are kinda' innoying, they aren't bad.. I don't know, mayBE it's all about taste, and mayBE i ain't the one to judge anyway since i'm not a real hip-hopper or something, but anyway this cd goes away with a very weak four, much because of three certain songs.. hmmm i wonder which?

P.S. if you like wyclef buy his latest "the preacher's son". it's a lot a better

Free Music Review: The best from Wyclef so far
Hit: 4 Stars

This album inclded some of my favorite song of 2001. "Perfect Gentleman" was a perfect catchy song to dance too, very meliodic and strong. "911" with Mary J Blige was more serious but at the same time it had a good sound and lyrics. "It doesn't matter" was fun, with Wrestling star and now also movie star "The Rock" appearing. The sound here sound latin. If that's not enough we have "Runaway" with disco legends "Earth wind and fire" and Diallo" with Yousson N'Dour. Wyclef has a tendancy to refer to someone in every song. He mention quite a few names like Stevie Wonder, Chris Rock etc. Like usually there are many guest stars on the album and there are far too many songs but the songs are catchy, the lyrics fun and the sound especially are unique. A very nice album, you just cannot dislike.

Free Music Review: 'ca ne me fait rien'
Hit: 4 Stars

'Ca ne me fait rien' (the french version of 'it doesn't matter' has to be my altime favorite song. it is great to listen to when you're feeling low. but nothing beats dancin' in front of the mirror with all that attitude.
